So true. Any interpretation of prophesy needs to include the allowance for correction. Sequence of events, attempts at correctly applying current events or anything else needs to take backseat to allowing God to work and have faith that He is in charge.

Being spared themselves seems to make a good many folks smug rather than causing them to weep over the lost. He works in mysterious ways yet it seems to me that many a prophecy interpretation frames up something straight forward and claims to have unraveled a mystery. The study of prophecy edifies, but prophecy as the lens for of our faith is a distraction.

His grace and mercy should be our lens, one we're anxious for others to share. When you say the main thing is allowing God to work and having faith, that is absolutely right because he is in charge.
