LOL Now I've heard everything.
The Jews completely missed the arrival of their Messiah, and you hold them up as the standard for understanding the nature of God?
Instruction?
DEUT 17:8 If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the LORD thy God shall choose;
9 And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and enquire; and they shall shew thee the sentence of judgment:
10 And thou shalt do according to the sentence, which they of that place which the LORD shall choose shall shew thee; and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they inform thee:
11 According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.
DEUT 32:7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations. Ask your father, and he will show you; your elders, and they will tell you:
“messianic judaism” is not accepted by Judiasm.
...and it lacks the messiah in Christianity.
If for no other reason than 90% of adherents are not and never were Jewish!
and it lacks the messiah in Christianity
Not sure what that means, but it is absolutely heretical to (small 'o') orthodox Christianity.
You are forgetting that Yahshua and the disciples were Jews. Also, they had a large following of Jewish believers. It was the Hellenistic priesthood that rejected him as the messiah.
This may come as a suprise to you, but the people who translated the scriptures did not always do a good job of it. And the word was (a) god.
I have more to add, but it needs to be edited.
>> “...and it lacks the messiah in Christianity.” <<
.
That makes no sense at all.
>> “My guess is that it is one of those...i cant make up my mind whether Im Chritian or Jew...so Im hedging deals.” <<
.
But Christianity is nothing more nor less than the fulfillment of Judaism. Judaism was 100% about Christ, and how to know him when he came (and comes again).
Each of the Lord’s feasts is a pagent about an event in the revealing of christ.
“But Christianity is nothing more nor less than the fulfillment of Judaism.”
Correct that Christianity is the fulfillment of Judaism. Incorrect that it is no more. Because Jesus Christ came to save all of the world, and sent out his Apostles to the world.
“Judaism was 100% about Christ, and how to know him when he came (and comes again).”
Jesus Christ has arisen.
Rather, “incorrect, that it is nothing more...”
First of all, it wasn't just the Hellenistic priesthood that rejected Jesus as Messiah. Remember the crowd yelling "Crucify him!".
Secondly, Judaism has always rejected Jesus as Messiah. Remember, once the "Jewish believers" became believers, they ceased being Jews and became Christians. The majority of them abandoned the observance of Jewish ceremonial law in favor of embracing the law of Christ. Those that did continue to observe it observed it for entirely different reasons than they had when Jews - because of the Messiah!
Again I say, it is laughable to hold up Orthodox Jews as the standard for understanding the nature of God since they reject the Messiah their own scriptures told them to expect.
