That’s why I said “starters.”

Ok then, please give me another example (besides lusting after someone in one's heart) of breaking one's vow of chastity that doesn't involve the sex act. ...something that would be likely to get him fired from his position.

A vow of chastity isn’t merely about abstaining sex. It could be kissing. It could be an advance. It’s as much about the “spirit” of the law as it is about the letter.

A sin against chastity or chaste behaviour can include a kiss, a touch motivated by lust on one’s self or another, but short of the marital act. Father Eutenhaur denies the sex act but was probably more specific in the confessional as to the exact extent of his guilt. We will never know.

This was reportedly not an isolated incident, so yes, he had fallen into a habitual condition of sin, but obviously is trying to face off against it spiritually, or he could and would have walked away, letting the splendid other good works he has done stand alone.

May be he shared that information with her and said something like “I never thought I could be so tempted to do something carnal, but with you I was”. And she took that and ran with it.

When I went to college in the late 50’s there was a group of girls, who were not Catholic that thought there was nothing more challenging then trying to get priests to break their vows. It was thought to be quite cutting edge.
