Humans are weak, God is strong.

23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

24being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;

Thanks be to God that he can ask for forgiveness and receive it and go on to make amendments and try again to avoid temptation and God willing, he will receive strength and healing to continue God’s work.

It is only through Father, Son and Holy Spirit that we are sustained and perfected.

Being an exorcist is a dangerous occupation. Being a high-profile, publicly renowned exorcist is an extremely dangerous occupation. Interacting constantly with the media is not ideal for this sort of ministry. There are too many occasions of sin, too many temptations to pride and vainglory. It's too busy....too much Martha and not enough Mary. Unless one is a person of great holiness, the devil will find a way in.

I think Father may have just learned a painful lesson.

Good to hear from Fr. Euteneuer about the issues. Sad that people, absent the facts, came to their own conclusions, and made them public, before he had made his own statement.

Prayers to him as we all need prayers and forgiveness for our sins as only one person did not sin and it was none of us.

Humility is a hard lesson. He will be stronger now, if his repentance is sincere.

Classic illustration of the dangers of blowing up any individual into an idol. Every human being disappoints. Every human being lets us down. (And we, others.) Famed in song and story.

For Father T

St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle
Be our protection against the wickedness
and snares of the devil;
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
Cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits
who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen

True Tax-chick.Here’s is the lastest statement and this one is from HLI.
Human Life International responds to Fr. Euteneuer’s release about his resignation.
“Since the time of Rev. Euteneuer’s resignation, the Board subsequently learned of additional allegations in connection with his exorcism ministry. As Rev. Euteneuer no longer serves as president of HLI, we are not especially endowed with the competence or authority to investigate, evaluate, or act on these additional allegations, but they have been submitted to the proper ecclesiastical authorities.
HLI received certain assurances that Rev. Euteneuer was no longer engaged in public ministry and therefore, until this time, in our efforts to observe Catholic teaching, we have avoided comment (beyond our original statement). This decision was based on all the teachings of the Church but in particular the Catechism’s instructions as follows:”

Father Euteneuer and those who have interacted with him are important because they’re human beings. The whole situation with him and his breathless-fans-turned-howling-mob is such a perfect psych-textbook case study that one’s tempted to believe it’s fiction almost.

However, what really matters, as far as I’m concerned, is the mission of HLI. I just found something from them marking my page in a library book, and I’m going to write a check.

Scary stuff,if they haven’t been dead for 100 years I don’t read them.That’s my motto.I too support the work of HLI.

Wow ... Very sad.

My prayers for Fr. Tom and EVERYONE involved.

I don’t post here often, but I remember the speculation when Fr. Tom first left HLI a number of months back. A Freeper posted a comment along the lines of, “I hope this is not a Fr. Cutie-like situation.”

Eesh. Seems pretty close. Except Fr. Tom is far more repentant.

He tried. She said no.

Assumes facts not in evidence. Better brush up on the Eighth Commandment.

In the past, when a priest looked like he was reaching “rock star” popularity the Church wisely moved them out of the public eye because valid miracles or not the focus is supposed to be on God working through the human and not the human.

No. Answers question raised by another freeper as to how a person could violate a vow of chastity without performing the sexual act. Better read people's posts more carefully.

Public acclaim can be a drug. Of course, we do need priests in various positions that are not under direct diocesan supervision, but it’s a challenging situation.
