“Mat 15:11 What goes into a mans mouth does not make him unclean, but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him unclean.”
You, like most Christians, need to learn context.
Of course, it doesn’t make you “unclean” (that is, unable to approach God through prayer.)
That is not at issue, and has to be read in context, and harmonized with the entire Bible.
There is a black letter teaching, in Acts, to for Christians to avoid eating meat sacrificed to idols, blood, and from living animals.
Meat sacrificed to idols should be avoided because you give credence (credibility) to the religion that is partaking in the sacrifice.
It doesn’t make you “unclean,” except by the fact that you are (indirectly) taking part in a pagan ritual, which makes the pagans look “OK” to outsiders.
Me, I don’t want to endorse Islam.
>>You, like most Christians, need to learn context.<<
I don’t think that is the issue here. The context was implied, at least in what I was reading. And the context of Christianity itself supports DannyTN’s point.
I suspect that nobody on this thread would eat anything that had “HALAL” on the package, and for the very reason you give - supporting the religious belief it involves.
Your remark was also condescending.
