they have a wiki.... nothing Baptist about it.

Iliff is one of thirteen United Methodist Church seminaries in the United States. It also has close connections with the United Church of Christ, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, the Unitarian Universalist Association, the Episcopal Church, the Presbyterian Church, the Metropolitan Community Church, and others. Iliff’s student body represents more than forty faith traditions.[3]

Other than adultery, which Scriptures “support divorce as a last option if reconciliation does not work”?

***True, Christ never spoke of homosexuality***

He also never spoke about bestiality, that doesn’t mean I, well, never mind.

actually you could argue against homosexuality from a purely secular prospective too.

The average live span of a Homosexual in the US is 43-46 years.

The average for ALL men is 78.4 (and those numbers include the gay men!) so homosexuality decreases your life span by at LEAST 32 years!!!!

Just for comparison ...

Smoking reduces your life span by nearly 5 years
Obesity 4-9 months

I disagree with your statement that it “guarantees No inheritance in the Kingdom of God”.

Everyone sins, even Christians. No sin is worse than the other. All sin separates us from God.

Now, you have to wonder if someone who is actively sinning actually believes in Christ and loves God. However, I know I struggle with things like materialism and gossiping in my own life. I know they are wrong, but I still end up doing them. Why do I fail at these things when I know they are wrong and they hurt God?

Thank God, I don’t worry about whether I will have eternal life. I know I will. I try to be a better person all the time because I love God and want to follow his commandments.

Marriage is a covenant. So ... whatever is made in the covenant agreement is the key. There are many a person who hold to the fact that divorce is sin. It is not. When a man is beating a woman or vice versa in a marriage is one example. Some pastoral advice is to "hang in there." When the man and woman married they most likely made the covenant to "love, honor and cherish." When a spouse begins physical violence the covenant is broken - this is a good example of when a divorce is allowed.

Yep you sure could. But that would mean putting some rather unpleasant truths before them and the nattering nobs would never allow that.

The way some of those activists were acting, you’d think Osteen was the first Christian pastor ever to claim homosexuality is a sin. Good grief.

The HRC president failed, or declined, to note that Osteen did not speak about love, nor did he say that homosexuals are to be hated for that reason. Osteen did not take this occasion to remind the questioner that we are commanded by God to love every person, including sinners, although he could have for I’m sure he knows this and believes it..
But it is a favorite tactic of liberals to complain that opposition to their social policy preferences can only be based on hatred of persons and not on objective impersonal beliefs.

Wesley Hill , a Christian, a man who has same sex attractions, but confesses to be celibate because the bible states that homosexuality is a sin, Romans 1 and there is no way to get around this.

"Is homosexuality a sin?" Morgan asked.

"Yes, I’ve always believed it," stated the pastor of America's largest church, Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. "The Scripture shows that it’s a sin."

Being homosexual is not a sin. Living a homosexual lifestyle is the sin. The Catholic Church has implemented a program entitled: Courage. Persons with homosexual desires have always been with us; however, until recent times, there has been little, if any, formal outreach from the Church in the way of support groups or information for such persons. Most were left to work out their path on their own. As a result, they found themselves listening to and accepting the secular society's perspective and opting to act on their same-sex desires.

The Five Goals of Courage

The following five goals of Courage were created by the members themselves, when Courage was founded.   The goals are read at the start of each meeting and each member is called to practice them in daily life.

  1. Live chaste lives in accordance with the Roman Catholic Church's teaching on homosexuality.   (Chastity)
  2. Dedicate ones life to Christ through service to others, spiritual reading, prayer, meditation, individual spiritual direction, frequent attendance at Mass, and the frequent reception of the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist.   (Prayer and Dedication)
  3. Foster a spirit of fellowship in which all may share thoughts and experiences, and so ensure that no one will have to face the problems of homosexuality alone.   (Fellowship)
  4. Be mindful of the truth that chaste friendships are not only possible but necessary in a  chaste Christian life and in doing so provide encouragement to one another in forming and sustaining them.  (Support)
  5. Live lives that may serve as good examples to others. (Good Example/Role Model)

There is hope for the homosexual and opportunities are there for them to serve their fellow christians.

Hate sin, love sinners. It doesn’t mean calling out only specific pet sins.

"As a Southern Baptist and an ethicist I believe that we can’t follow Jesus’ commandment to love God and our neighbor as our self if we start with the premise that homosexuality is sinful," Torre argued. "Starting with the belief that people are sinful doesn’t allow us to get to know them, let alone love them."

It's right there in black-letter Scripture, Torre. Starting with the belief that people are sinful comes straight out of Genesis, and is the reason we need a Savior.

I am absolutely amazed at how many people can't comprehend what is written, word for word, in front of their very noses. Jesus had no problem starting with the belief that people are sinful -- they were who He came to save. He loved them with God's perfect love all the same. Why is that so hard to understand?

Hate the sin. Love the sinner. It's what Christianity is.

As a Calvinist, I find Osteen’s preaching to be filled with milk, and very short on meat.

But to his credit, it is milk based on Scripture. And I’m not ashamed to say I’ve been lifted and encouraged by the few “sermons” of his I’ve heard.

If some men require milk before they are brought to a desire for meat, then Osteen fills a need. God willing, most will be given a hunger to know more of God and move on to a “meatier” church.

As I said, I have tried to dislike him. Really tried. 8~) It hasn’t happened. And his strong, Scriptural repudiation of homosexuality made it even harder for me to dismiss him.

this fraud is part of an ultra liberal group called the “Cooperative Baptist Fellowship” that was effectively kicked out of the SBC years ago. The CBF probably has several hundred or at most a few thousand members who knows what the CBF stands for and support it. Obviously, this is an inconsequential organization, which is why this fellow tries to pass himself off as a member of the SBC (16 million members)

To say homosexuality is a sin does not also mean that God does not also love them. God loves all sinners, otherwise the Cross would be meaningless.

Malachi 2:15-16

15 Has not the Lord made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring.c So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.

16 “I hate divorce,” says the Lord God of Israel, “and I hate a man’s covering himselfd with violence as well as with his garment,” says the Lord Almighty.

So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith.
