Fraud you say?

I say: [Citation needed]

The Athanasian Creed remains an accurate exposition on the Christian belief of the Trinity, one that developed organically from the earliest days of the Church. A study of the works of the Early Fathers tells the story of this development - of balancing the notions of Monotheism and also that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all Kyrios, a word that had been used in the Septuagint to mean the LORD God. Both of these notions were Scriptural, but working through what seemed to be a paradox took hundreds of years.

Christ himself uttered these words during the First Vision “... and all of thier Creeds are an abomination to me ....”

the Creeds unscriptural .... indefensible .... an Abomination ....

I will let the words of St. Paul speak to your claims that Trinitarian Christianity is somehow "unscriptural" while Mormonism is:

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. (Gal. 1:6-9)

But Wikipedia wasn't ISN'T the only wiki in town.

Indeed!

I have posted things from the 'wunnerfully unbiased' MORMONWIKI before.

One must be careful walking it's pages, as it is so slanted you may slide off!

Hey Inmen!

Is it time for an ANTImormonWIKI?

"Christ himself uttered these words during the First Vision “... and all of thier Creeds are an abomination to me ....”

What First Vision of Christ? The one in the Book of Mormon?

... that most Christians go “Pharisee” and call you a Heretic.

Sorry; but on FR, MORMONs are CHALLENGED to put their money where their mouth is and actually PRODUCE just what is so BAD in these creeds.

Here is YOUR chance...

Sorry; but you are broadcasting information that is not TRUE.

'CHRIST' said nothing...

Read it for yourself:

17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!
18 My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)—and which I should join.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”
20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself lying on my back, looking up into heaven.

I think if we should get screen shots of these pages and see if they are being changed on a daily basis.

This should suffice.

It appears that over 500 changes have taken place!

The Athanasian Creed (Quicumque vult) is a Christian statement of belief, focusing on Trinitarian doctrine and Christology. And where it mentions 'catholic' it is not the Roman Catholic Church being mentioned. The word 'catholic' means:

Instructions given by Joseph Smith:

          "Doctrine & Covenants" Section 129:
1  There are two kinds of beings in heaven, namely: Angels, who are resurrected personages, having bodies of flesh and bones;
2  For instance, Jesus said: Handle me and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
3  Secondly: the spirits of just men made perfect, they who are not resurrected, but inherit the same glory.
When a messenger comes saying he has a message from God, offer him your hand and request him to shake hands with you.
5  If he be an angel he will do so, and you will feel his hand.
If he be the spirit of a just man made perfect he will come in his glory; for that is the only way he can appear;
7  Ask him to shake hands with you, but he will not move, because it is contrary to the order of heaven for a just man to deceive; but he will still deliver his message.
8  If it be the devil as an angel of light, when you ask him to shake hands he will offer you his hand, and you will not feel anything; you may therefore detect him.
9  These are three grand keys whereby you may know whether any administration is from God.

Joseph Smith, Nauvoo, Illinois, February 9, 1843. History of the Church 5:267.

“Nevertheless .... while the vast majority of the Christian Churches acknowledged the Creed was a Fraud”

WOW! HUGE historical claim, yet with no historical citation that demonstrates it is a true claim.

I’ve never seen a historical reference that says a vast majority of Christian Churches acknowledged the Athenasian Creed was a fraud. Frankly, it sounds like a sweeping statement that lacks historicity.

Perhaps you can list some non-cultic historical citations that demonstrate what you claim is true. I would very much like to see them.

thank you in advance teppe,

Expect crickets. the only problem with the creed is there is a question that came to light around the same time that Smith was starting his con of who ultimately authored it, whether it was St. Athanasius or one who followed his teachings. It is still a widely accepted statement of faith. What it says is what matters, that is what makes it of God.

Of course the proponents of a fraud will try and hook into anything to bolster their lie...

Some back ground...

ej,

Oh, I don’t expect a single FACT, piece of EVIDENCE, or even a LOGICAL argument that is rational.

Mormonism is build on WILD CLAIMS and FEELINGS.

Beyond that, ZERO.

Still, asking for the historical citations points out they don’t exist...

Hey Inmen!

Is it time for an ANTImormonWIKI?

I was just wondering if maybe some of the Inmen should sign up and help out on editing the WIKI site.
