re: No, wikipedia is very unrealable.

I only posted wiki because it was quick and in this case accurate. You can look it up in any Catholic source. This is elementary material. Any traditionalist Catholic knows that:

The Devils Advocate or Promoter of the Faith ((Latin: promotor fidei), "was established in 1587 during the reign of Pope Sixtus V and abolished by Pope John Paul II in 1983. This reform changed the canonization process considerably, helping John Paul II to usher in an unprecedented number of elevations"

That JPII changed the rules and then proceeded to beatify more people than all the popes before him put together. Now he is getting beatified under the same easy rules.

The reason why Joan of Arc took 500 years was because she had to go through A REAL BEATIFICATION/CANONZATION PROCEDURE WITH A devils advocate and she needed FOUR authentic miracles to secure for beatification and TWO more miracles for Canonization.

The new rules have no devils advocate, and call for 1 and 1 miracles. It’s like they moved the fences in to 100 feet. and any ballplayer hit 600 homers per year.

The beatification & canonization process has become a joke.

What planet have you been living in?

What you stated there is a rumor. Any canon lawyer worth their salt knows that the position of “Devil’s Advocate” was not abolished by JPII. Just renamed. DO YOU NOT REALIZE THAT THE POPE IS NOT BOUND BY CANON LAW?
