Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Book of Proverbs
Chapter 31

The Words of King Lemuel’s Mother

1. The words of King Lemuel, the utterance which his mother taught him:
2. What, my son?
And what, son of my womb?
And what, son of my vows?
3. Do not give your strength to women,
Nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
4. It is not for kings, O Lemuel,
It is not for kings to drink wine,
Nor for princes intoxicating drink;
5. Lest they drink and forget the law,
And pervert the justice of all the afflicted.
6. Give strong drink to him who is perishing,
And wine to those who are bitter of heart.
7. Let him drink and forget his poverty,
And remember his misery no more.
8. Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are appointed to die.
9. Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And plead the cause of the poor and needy.

The Virtuous Wife

10. Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
11. The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
12. She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.
13. She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands.
14. She is like the merchant ships,
She brings her food from afar.
15. She also rises while it is yet night,
And provides food for her household,
And a portion for her maidservants.
16. She considers a field and buys it;
From her profits she plants a vineyard.
17. She girds herself with strength,
And strengthens her arms. 18. She perceives that her merchandise is good,
And her lamp does not go out by night.
19. She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hand holds the spindle.
20. She extends her hand to the poor,
Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.
21. She is not afraid of snow for her household,
For all her household is clothed with scarlet.
22. She makes tapestry for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23. Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
24. She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies sashes for the merchants.
25. Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.
26. She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness.
27. She watches over the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
28. Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
29. “ Many daughters have done well,
But you excel them all.”
30. Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates.

Our Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your Name!
How Wonderful You Are!,
It Is A Joy To Praise Your Name,
You Alone Are Worthy to be Worshiped,
For Your Alone Are The One True God.
Omnipotent
Omniscient,
Almighty and Omnipresent,
You Are The GREAT I AM,
The Rock of Ages,
The Ancient of Days.
It is a Good thing to Give You Thanks!

Thank You, Father for this Beautiful Chapter of Proverbs from King Lemuel's Mother.
Thank You for These Ancient Words,
And Thank You for giving the Female Half of Your Creation this Guidance from Your Word.
Thank You for "The Proverbs 31 Woman"
"Eishes Chayil", The "Woman of Valor".
She speaks to us out of Your Word
Of Love, Respect, Diligence, Creativity, Business Acumen, Beauty, and Virtue.
In a Place and Time when Women were little more than slaves,
You Give this Wonderful Example of Dignity and Strength.

LORD, We ask that You fill the leaders of the USA with Your Spirit,
that they may make Holy and Righteous decisions.
Comfort and heal those who have been touched by Violence this week,
And please expose and correct those who have used this tragedy to further their own political agenda.
Bring the Truth To Light, Abba Father,
And expose all the Liars!

For the Sake of Your Anointed,
and For The Sake of Your Name,
we pray for the Peace of Jerusalem,
For Israel,
According to Your Word,
and Your Promise.

Father, We eagerly await Messiah,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

This Famous Passage from Proverbs 31, The "Woman of Valor" is reproduced on Posters and Greeting Cards all the time, so we are familiar with it. It is an amazing contrast to the earlier woman in Proverbs! What is truly remarkable is that this picture of the creative, independent businesswoman was written at a time when women had no status. In other cultures of the Ancient World, women were treated as property, and yet the Proverbs 31 Woman saves money and purchases property of her own!

Psalm 94

God the Avenger of the Righteous

1 O Lord, you God of vengeance,
you God of vengeance, shine forth!
2 Rise up, O judge of the earth;
give to the proud what they deserve!
3 O Lord, how long shall the wicked,
how long shall the wicked exult?

4 They pour out their arrogant words;
all the evildoers boast.
5 They crush your people, O Lord,
and afflict your heritage.
6 They kill the widow and the stranger,
they murder the orphan,
7 and they say, ‘The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob does not perceive.’

8 Understand, O dullest of the people;
fools, when will you be wise?

He who formed the eye, does he not see?
10 He who disciplines the nations,
he who teaches knowledge to humankind,
does he not chastise?
11 The Lord knows our thoughts,*
that they are but an empty breath.

12 Happy are those whom you discipline, O Lord,
and whom you teach out of your law,
13 giving them respite from days of trouble,
until a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not forsake his people;
he will not abandon his heritage;
15 for justice will return to the righteous,
and all the upright in heart will follow it.

16 Who rises up for me against the wicked?
Who stands up for me against evildoers?
17 If the Lord had not been my help,
my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.
18 When I thought, ‘My foot is slipping’,
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
19 When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul.
20 Can wicked rulers be allied with you,
those who contrive mischief by statute?
21 They band together against the life of the righteous,
and condemn the innocent to death.
22 But the Lord has become my stronghold,
and my God the rock of my refuge.
23 He will repay them for their iniquity
and wipe them out for their wickedness;
the Lord our God will wipe them out.

Heavenly Father may you continue to bring an overwhelming, crushing defeat on the forces of darkness in our nation, may you smash every crooked deed they try to hold onto power and may this be so convincing that everyone knows that your hand is in this. Then we may bring the light of your Gospel to the nations as you did this time in history:

This describes my Mother. O that I might do as she wished for me to live. As a child we chaff at any restrain given us when it is absolutely necessary for our safety. Thanks be to the memory of my Mother. And may she know how much I regret not being a better child that appreciated her then.

Our LORD wants our good, chastises us and teaches us ... if we will but listen, study and learn. May it be so LORD.

Peace, blessings, protection, mercy, strength, healing, be our prayer for Israel, Jerusalem, the persecuted believers, and America, in this day. Thank Thee, Father, that You hear our prayer. Amen and Amen.
