Jeremiah 12

Jeremiah’s Complaint

1 You are always righteous, LORD,
when I bring a case before you.
Yet I would speak with you about your justice:
Why does the way of the wicked prosper?
Why do all the faithless live at ease?
2 You have planted them, and they have taken root;
they grow and bear fruit.
You are always on their lips
but far from their hearts.
3 Yet you know me, LORD;
you see me and test my thoughts about you.
Drag them off like sheep to be butchered!
Set them apart for the day of slaughter!
4 How long will the land lie parched
and the grass in every field be withered?
Because those who live in it are wicked,
the animals and birds have perished.
Moreover, the people are saying,
“He will not see what happens to us.”

Dead birds and dead fish mentioned Bible verses says Connecticut man
January 5th, 2011 2:43 pm ET
Do you like this story?

Dead birds and dead fish do appear in Bible, which is open interpretation. Depending on how you decipher it, some may think that the dead birds and dead fish are considered warnings in the Bible of mans demise. With more reports of dead birds in Sweden today, along with new reports of fish dying by the millions in Maryland, Brazil, and New Zealand, the Bible verse may be of interest to some. More reports are coming in today of both birds and fish being found around the globe, according to the Huffington Post.
A reader from Essex Connecticut wrote in to say that dead birds and dead fish are mentioned in two verses of the Bible. They are found in both Hosea 4:1-3 and Ecclesiastes 9:12. Both the verses do make mention of the dead fish and birds and it also mentions man’s demise, basically from his own doing in the same verses. it may be a stretch to reference these Bible verses to the dead birds and dead fish found around the globe today, but that would be up to the individual.
Hosea 4:1-3 - Speaks about the lack of faithfulness, love, or acknowledgment of God. There is only cursing, lying and murder, stealing and adultery. It also says there is bloodshed and more bloodshed with each other. Then it says, “because of this the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea are swept away,” according to the website Bible Gateway.
In Ecclesiastes 9:12 - “For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them,” according to the website Biblios.
Sweden is reporting a flock of fallen dead birds today and thousands more were reported in three US States in the last few days. This is extraordinary when, you take into consideration the millions of dead fish in the Chesapeake Bay today, with Brazil and New Zealand also reporting dead fish surfacing in the last few days. The Arkansas River had hundreds of thousands of dead fish washing up along a twenty mile stretch in the last few days also.
Mike B. from Essex Connecticut wrote in and said that although the bible does not specifically say that dead birds and dead fish are a sign, there are two bible verses that contain the subjects of dead birds and dead fish.
Connecticut had a similar dead fish phenomonom back in 1895 when the New York Times newspaper printed the story. Connecticut lakes were filled with dead fish from “fish cholera,” as the old fishermen called it. Without the sanitation technology that is in place today, the rotting fish tainted the water and created a foul odor, NY Times 1895 These fish phenomonoms are not uncommon, the many around the globe today, coupled with the many dead bird reports are extraordinary. These many incidents do not usually happen all at once.
