And does any one believe that in one place there can be either many shepherds or many flocks?

Lots of people, apparently.

It's the overriding principle of religion in America.

Unfortunately there is deep division within the Catholic/Christian church which has created not just differing sects, but actual enmity among God’s children.

When John came to Jesus and wanted him to denounce those not of their group who were using Jesus’ name to cast out demons, Jesus did not do so. Instead, he told them “Do not stop him; for no one who does a deed of power in my name will be able soon afterwards to speak evil of me. whoever is not against us is for us.”

We could still have unity if we could disagree without the enmity.
