I have no power whatsoever to take away a forum or institute one. Only Jim Robinson can do that, and he’s let his feelings on the matter of your offensive LSD threads be known. So be the good FReeper you say you are and desist.

It’s absurd for you to try to equate mormon myths with the writings of John the Apostle. Other than the obvious, the biggest difference is that John’s writings are not a “new” gospel, but rather are in agreement with all Jesus taught. Your mormon re-inventions are not.

I generally skip the mormon discussions, just too much foolishness there. I long ago realized that (ironically) the Apostle John told Christ’s followers to avoid troublemakers, to turn them away.

II John 7-11:

“I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work. “

They don't get to claim the bible was corrupt so they need new scripture and religion, then "retranslate" the bible to "correct" it, then back away from it when they realize they went too far and co-opt the true bible to justify it all.

Joseph Smith's "retranslation" of II John 7-11, Compare to post above:

7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him Godspeed;

11 For he that biddeth him Godspeed is partaker of his evil deeds.

OK, you get everyone to stop posting to me, and I'll stop responding, deal? I thought not. How dare I protest the character assassination while it's not finished!

You know, I just don't want o disillusion you by pointing out the errors in the Bible and places where it disagrees, so anyone who cares, Google is your fiend, Jedidah, I envy your innocence.
