“There are a lot of Mormons who support your conservative cause Jim. Please don’t forget that, to the end. I really don’t agree with you on this issue, but thanks for what you have done for our common cause.”

Rip,

The problem arose because mormons did and do use FR to
proselytize. This is the very reason that members who
post contradicting mormonism exist - to shine the light
of Christian truth onto the claims made here - and not
allow one-sided proselytizing to occur.

Now it is happening inside “caucus” threads, where no one
else is allowed to contradict the falsehood that is posted.
Just look at how many times a mormon caucus thread has been
opened up with the comment that the material was antagonistic
toward Christians. It has been frequent.

I’m glad you are here as a conservative. I find you to be
reasonable and a FRiend. It is the mormonic proselytizing
that is the issue on this thread.

best,
ampu

nobody is reading caucus threads who aren’t in the caucus. the word “Caucus” in the title screams out “stay away, this is for us”.

And any article posted as a caucus thread could be reposted by someone else as an open thread, where discussion could include everybody. This happens regularly, mostly with LDS threads but occasionally with other religious threads, as non-caucus members decide they want to have their say.

It is pretty easy to avoid all the religion threads, as they are all posted in the religion section. But it is even easier to avoid Caucus threads — the title is right there.

I don’t know why any non-LDS person would bother reading an LDS caucus thread. I usually looked at the 1st 10 posts, just to see how many freepers broke the caucus rules, but I never actually read any of them.
