You choose to entry my sphere so you are subject to my scrutiny and concern...

If you want your comments to be taken as serious by me and the other women here...

Keep in mind, you have conservative atheists here that would take a bullet for you.

Don’t judge so quickly.

"I’ll put it this way. I don’t believe a single word written by Joseph Smith or his followers when it departs from the Word of God as recorded in the Holy Bible and I’m not thrilled about people coming here to preach some false gospel from the pages of Free Republic."

The Americana veil of Mormonism is... “nice”, but remember, you are an infidel.
American Indians are the real Jews, according to Mormons. This is why they infuriated Europeans recently by going to Auschwitz and trying to baptize the dead Jews there... or something.

I didn’t say ban all religious discussions, but if Jim is going to make an exception to the Caucus rules that only applies to Mormons, than perhaps it’s time to do an across the board thing, either with all caucuses, or just eliminate Mormon discussions period.

My understanding is that there are numerous religions that are not granted caucus threads here on FR and only a few that are. Therefore if there were no longer Mormon Caucus threads it would not be the case that Mormonism was treated in a way that only applies to it. Rather Mormonism would no longer be granted the special consideration allowed to only a few others.

I don’t disagree with the essence of what you say. In the post to which you responded I was commenting on the oddity of people being surprised that Mormons consider old Joe an Apostle of Jesus Christ.

Well, of course they do!

In fact, I suspect they believe he outranks the original Twelve. But I could be wrong on that.

While you are looking at all of the spin from those who oppose just to be fair you might want to take a look see from the source.

Which version of the LDS gives a feeling of peace vs which one would scare the willies out of you!

Watch heads explode when (not if) Beck endorses Romney.

Oh yea...he's already lost me pretty much as a viewer...sad to say..had he not brought his religion to the for front and mingled it in his message then I might make more a point to watch..but not since he's been "preaching" so much. No doubt they're putting pressure on Him to be more vocal of his faith...but they won't push too hard as they like his tithes.

Honestly after-death involuntary baptisms don’t bother me. I mean I’m dead. If they think that doing that is going to save me then go right ahead. If they’re wrong then it’s no skin off my back. If they’re right... I’m in the game.

Most times when there been a change it is noted in the body of the thread but now the blame is directed toward the one who originally posted this in the RF under Caucus thread!

I believe the majority of the Mormon posters are on their missions to post and challenge here.

They do get credit for doing so, and are encouraged to go to sites and "practice" their tactics... but I'm not so sure of the number of Mormons who are not posting...so much of the Mormon faith is "hidden" it would be natural to keep it to themselves. But those who do post on a constant do indeed have an agenda. IMO

In my view, the poison pill concerns the LDS insistence on being called Christian whereas the LDS doctrine completely disagrees with Judeo/Christian doctrine on “Who God IS.”

In the LDS doctrine of pre-mortal existence, God the Father had a Father who had a Father and so on.

That doctrine denies the Name of God: I AM, Creator, Alpha, Omega, He IS (YHwH), God Almighty (El Shaddai) and so on because under that doctrine, He is merely “a” God, not “the” God.

And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. – Exodus 3:14

Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and [there is] none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: - Isaiah 46:9-10

Interestingly, the Name of God “YHwH” is often translated “The Lord” in the Old Testament. It means “He IS”

In appearance, Yhwh () is the third person singular imperfect "ḳal" of the verb ("to be"), meaning, therefore, "He is," or "He will be," or, perhaps, "He lives," the root idea of the word being, probably, "to blow," "to breathe," and hence, "to live." With this explanation agrees the meaning of the name given in Ex. iii. 14, where God is represented as speaking, and hence as using the first person—"I am" (, from , the later equivalent of the archaic stem ). The meaning would, therefore, be "He who is self-existing, self-sufficient," or, more concretely, "He who lives," the abstract conception of pure existence being foreign to Hebrew thought. There is no doubt that the idea of life was intimately connected with the name Yhwh from early times. He is the living God, as contrasted with the lifeless gods of the heathen, and He is the source and author of life (comp. I Kings xviii.; Isa. xli. 26-29, xliv. 6-20; Jer. x. 10, 14; Gen. ii. 7; etc.). So familiar is this conception of God to the Hebrew mind that it appears in the common formula of an oath, "ḥai Yhwh" (= "as Yhwh lives"; Ruth iii. 13; I Sam. xiv. 45; etc.).

Jewish Encyclopedia

And we Christians must never deny a Name of God.

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. – Psalms 91:4

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. – Matt 10:32-33

And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place. Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God. - Deuteronomy 12:3-4

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and [that] no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. –I Corinthians 12:3

“Hallowed be thy Name…”

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. - Revelation 1:7-8

You must realize that at the age of 19-21 we knew all the tricks. Hope they didn’t use that on you dear sister.

No they never had a chance too I was converted before I every heard of the Church.

All I had was the Book of Mormon given to me by a friend who was unable to explain it!

So it was a one on one with just me and the Lord and what joy it was!:)

It was by the sweet power of the Holy Ghost and a over whelming Joy I shall never forget!

Even now I feel that sweet comfort and peace.
