Ah, here is your 'complete' problem. Context, context, context 10. if it is 'complete', then the apostasy was TOTAL, according to smith et al. If there was NO (not some, not a few, not many but NO) true church was in existence and ALL the things that made for a "true" church were COMPLETELY removed/corrupted, then it was TOTAL.
