Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Book of Proverbs
Chapter 12

1. Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge,
But he who hates correction is stupid.
2. A good man obtains favor from the LORD,
But a man of wicked intentions He will condemn.
3. A man is not established by wickedness,
But the root of the righteous cannot be moved.
4. An excellent wife is the crown of her husband,
But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.
5. The thoughts of the righteous are right,
But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.
6. The words of the wicked are, “Lie in wait for blood,”
But the mouth of the upright will deliver them.
7. The wicked are overthrown and are no more,
But the house of the righteous will stand.
8. A man will be commended according to his wisdom,
But he who is of a perverse heart will be despised.
9. Better is the one who is slighted but has a servant,
Than he who honors himself but lacks bread.
10. A righteous man regards the life of his animal,
But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
11. He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread,
But he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding.
12. The wicked covet the catch of evil men,
But the root of the righteous yields fruit.
13. The wicked is ensnared by the transgression of his lips,
But the righteous will come through trouble.
14. A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth,
And the recompense of a man’s hands will be rendered to him.
15. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes,
But he who heeds counsel is wise.
16. A fool’s wrath is known at once,
But a prudent man covers shame.
17. He who speaks truth declares righteousness,
But a false witness, deceit.
18. There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword,
But the tongue of the wise promotes health.
19. The truthful lip shall be established forever,
But a lying tongue is but for a moment.
20. Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
But counselors of peace have joy.
21. No grave trouble will overtake the righteous,
But the wicked shall be filled with evil.
22. Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD,
But those who deal truthfully are His delight.
23. A prudent man conceals knowledge,
But the heart of fools proclaims foolishness.
24. The hand of the diligent will rule,
But the lazy man will be put to forced labor.
25. Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression,
But a good word makes it glad.
26. The righteous should choose his friends carefully,
For the way of the wicked leads them astray.
27. The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting,
But diligence is man’s precious possession.
28. In the way of righteousness is life,
And in its pathway there is no death.

Our Father in Heaven
Blessed Are You,
Oh LORD, Our God,
King of the Universe,
Ancient of Days,
El Shaddai,
The All-Sufficient One!

Oh, Holy, Holy, Holy are You,
LORD, God of Power and Might!
May You Always be The Provider
and Banner For Your People Israel!
May Your Children never be ashamed
or afraid to Lift Your Banner High!
May Your Name Always be Before them in battle and never be profaned!

Thank You, Dear Father,
For Giving us dominion over Your Creation.
Thank You for The Earth,
And all it contains.
Thank You for all Your Creatures,
And especially for the ones that have a special relationship with us!
Thank You for giving us this Wonderful Wisdom,
So that we can know how to live.
Thank You for giving us Your Word,
So that we might walk in Your Way.

We Pray For the Peace Of Jerusalem,
according to Your Will.
We Pray For the Peace,
Redemption, and Prosperity
of All The People Of Your Promise.
We Pray For an End To Antisemitism,
Slavery, Hostage-Taking, and Piracy.
We Pray that The Lies, Propaganda,
Slander and Blood-Libel against Your People
be EXPOSED for What They ARE!
We Pray For Our Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
Held in Bondage in Hostile Countries.
We Pray for Israeli Control over the Holy Places of All Faiths,
Especially The Little Town of Bethlehem,
Which is under siege by people who hate You and Your Word.
We lift up the Christians who have fled the town of Jesus' Birth,
Because of Muslim Persecution.
We Pray Also that You Will protect the Tomb of Rachel in Bethlehem,
So That it will not suffer the same fate as the Tomb of her beloved son Joseph.

We Pray that the Children of Ishmael will Embrace
the One True God of Abraham.
We Pray for The Residents of Jerusalem,
to be Delivered from controversy and violence,
and get their homes built.
We pray for the Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah
To Set All Things Right In His Kingdom!

A Blessed and Merry Christmas to Our Prayer Warriors who are of the Christian Faith!
To Our Jewish Friends, we hope you had a Chanukah full of Light and Peace!
And To All, a Prayer for a Happy,Healthy, and Prosperous New Year.

About 30 years ago, I found myself sitting in the position of a Telephone Biblical Counselor. All I had was a Bible and a Manual to assist People who called me with their problems, offer Biblical advice, and pray with them.
My first call was a distraught woman whose beloved pet had died. She had expressed her sorrow to her pastor, who rebuked her for mourning over a dead animal.
I was stumped! There was NOTHING in the manual about this! I said a silent prayer and opened up my Bible to the middle...And THERE it was! Proverbs 12:10.

A Righteous man regards the life of his Beast,
But The Tender mercies of the Wicked are cruel"

It was a revelation to me! Our Blessed Creator DOES care about His Creatures, ESPECIALLY the ones that He has given to us to be tame, domesticated, and beloved pets.

I shared the Scripture with the woman and we prayed together.
I believe in my heart that The Holy Spirit led me to this tiny couplet,
buried deep in the Book of Proverbs,
to minister peace to that lady on that night.

When my own beloved 15 year old Border Collie Torey died this year, the folks at FR were wonderfully supportive and loving.
We have a very Precious Treasure here in the Garden of Prayer.

Psalm 94

God the Avenger of the Righteous

1 O Lord, you God of vengeance,

how long shall the wicked exult?

4 They pour out their arrogant words;
all the evildoers boast.

the God of Jacob does not perceive.’

16 Who rises up for me against the wicked?
Who stands up for me against evildoers?
17 If the Lord had not been my help,
my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.
18 When I thought, ‘My foot is slipping’,
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
19 When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul.
20 Can wicked rulers be allied with you,
those who contrive mischief by statute?
21 They band together against the life of the righteous,
and condemn the innocent to death.
22 But the Lord has become my stronghold,
and my God the rock of my refuge.
23 He will repay them for their iniquity
and wipe them out for their wickedness;
the Lord our God will wipe them out.

Heavenly Father may you continue to bring an overwhelming, crushing defeat on the forces of darkness in our nation, may you smash every crooked deed they try to hold onto power and may this be so convincing that everyone knows that your hand is in this. Then we may bring the light of your Gospel to the nations as you did this time in history:

Many special prayers today. I cannot even begin to express how I fel today. I have been with children, some elderly folks, and puppies and kittens since early this morning and just got home. There is beautiful snow outside and everything looks so fresh and new. I don’t think the lump will leave my throat for quite awhile.

I can't think of a BETTER way of Spending Christmas than with Children, Elderly, and Puppies and Kittens!

When I was the Director of Recreational Therapy in a Boston Nursing Home, we often had Volunteers of the Jewish Faith, who would come in on Christmas to relieve my Activities Staff, so that they could have the day off. Of Course, I still went in to work, to coordinate the Volunteers, but it was ALWAYS a Magnificent, Wonderful Day. A Real Mitzvah all around, in all of its meanings.

And how wonderfully today's Passage from Proverbs dovetails with your experience!
