Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Book of Proverbs
Chapter 8

The Excellence of Wisdom

1. Does not wisdom cry out,
And understanding lift up her voice?
2. She takes her stand on the top of the high hill,
Beside the way, where the paths meet.
3. She cries out by the gates, at the entry of the city,
At the entrance of the doors:
4. “ To you, O men, I call,
And my voice is to the sons of men.
5. O you simple ones, understand prudence,
And you fools, be of an understanding heart.
6. Listen, for I will speak of excellent things,
And from the opening of my lips will come right things;
7. For my mouth will speak truth;
Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
8. All the words of my mouth are with righteousness;
Nothing crooked or perverse is in them.
9. They are all plain to him who understands,
And right to those who find knowledge.
10. Receive my instruction, and not silver,
And knowledge rather than choice gold;
11. For wisdom is better than rubies,
And all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her.
12. “ I, wisdom, dwell with prudence,
And find out knowledge and discretion.
13. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverse mouth I hate.
14. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom;
I am understanding, I have strength.
15. By me kings reign,
And rulers decree justice.
16. By me princes rule, and nobles,
All the judges of the earth.
17. I love those who love me,
And those who seek me diligently will find me.
18. Riches and honor are with me,
Enduring riches and righteousness.
19. My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold,
And my revenue than choice silver.
20. I traverse the way of righteousness,
In the midst of the paths of justice,
21. That I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth,
That I may fill their treasuries.
22. “ The LORD possessed me at the beginning of His way,
Before His works of old.
23. I have been established from everlasting,
From the beginning, before there was ever an earth.
24. When there were no depths I was brought forth,
When there were no fountains abounding with water.
25. Before the mountains were settled,
Before the hills, I was brought forth;
26. While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields,
Or the primal dust of the world.
27. When He prepared the heavens, I was there,
When He drew a circle on the face of the deep,
28. When He established the clouds above,
When He strengthened the fountains of the deep,
29. When He assigned to the sea its limit,
So that the waters would not transgress His command,
When He marked out the foundations of the earth,
30. Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman;
And I was daily His delight,
Rejoicing always before Him,
31. Rejoicing in His inhabited world,
And my delight was with the sons of men.
32. “ Now therefore, listen to me, my children,
For blessed are those who keep my ways.
33. Hear instruction and be wise,
And do not disdain it.
34. Blessed is the man who listens to me,
Watching daily at my gates,
Waiting at the posts of my doors.
35. For whoever finds me finds life,
And obtains favor from the LORD;
36. But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul;
All those who hate me love death.”

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent Is Your Name Over All The Earth!
The Earth is Yours, and The Fullness Thereof,
You Have Created It,
and All It Contains.
It Is You,
The Eternal,
Omnipotent,
Omniscient,
Omnipresent,
Blessed Are You,
Oh LORD, Our God,
King of The Universe,
Who has Brought us to this Day!

You Are The SAME,
Yesterday, Today, and Forever,
And You Alone Are Worthy Of Praise and Worship!
How We Long For Your Kingdom,
When We Can Join With Your Angels and Sing:

HOLY, HOLY, HOLY,
LORD, God of Power and Might,
Heaven and Earth are Full of Your Glory!

We Love You, Father,
And We Thank You For Your Practical and Poetic Word.
We Thank You For This Lovely Picture of Wisdom,
Personified as a Beautiful Woman,
Seeking those who would listen to her.
We Pray that Our leaders will seek Your Wisdom.
We pray that The people will look to You for Direction,
And seek Your Will in Your Word.

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Word.,
That The Lies of the Adversary will be exposed for what they are.
We Plead For Israeli Control Over All the Holy Sites in Israel,
So that All Faiths may visit them.
May Anything That defiles Your Name be REMOVED!
We Pray For Bibi Netayahu,
and the Leaders of Israel
May They Receive Wisdom from You to do the Right Thing.
We Pray for Our Own Leaders in America,
May They Speak Comfort to Jerusalem.
May We NOT be Numbered Among Israel's Enemies, God Forbid!
We Pray For The American People,
May They NOT be Deceived by the Media.
May Their Eyes be Opened with Regard to God's People Israel.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Good Morning, Prayer Warriors!
After the verbal beating of the Harlot in Proverbs 7,we are now introduced to a Very Different Woman in Proverbs 8!
This is Wisdom personified, as well as her sister Prudence, with Whom She Dwells.
"Wisdom" is shown as Active, Seeking out People even in the streets, to impart her gift.
I love this Chapter, not only because it is in such sharp contrast to the one before it, but also because it teaches that Our God is not partial to men or women when He shares His Gifts with us.

Come and Pray for Wisdom to imbue us all,
Men and Women,
Our Leaders,
Those in Authority,
and Those who are Under Authority,
And Of Course,
For The Peace of Jerusalem!

Psalm 94

God the Avenger of the Righteous

1 O Lord, you God of vengeance,
you God of vengeance, shine forth!
2 Rise up, O judge of the earth;
give to the proud what they deserve!
3 O Lord, how long shall the wicked,
how long shall the wicked exult?

4 They pour out their arrogant words;
all the evildoers boast.
5 They crush your people, O Lord,
and afflict your heritage.
6 They kill the widow and the stranger,
they murder the orphan,
7 and they say, ‘The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob does not perceive.’

8 Understand, O dullest of the people;
fools, when will you be wise?

he who teaches knowledge to humankind,
does he not chastise?
11 The Lord knows our thoughts,*
that they are but an empty breath.

12 Happy are those whom you discipline, O Lord,
and whom you teach out of your law,
13 giving them respite from days of trouble,
until a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not forsake his people;
he will not abandon his heritage;
15 for justice will return to the righteous,
and all the upright in heart will follow it.

16 Who rises up for me against the wicked?
Who stands up for me against evildoers?
17 If the Lord had not been my help,
my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.
18 When I thought, ‘My foot is slipping’,
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
19 When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul.
20 Can wicked rulers be allied with you,
those who contrive mischief by statute?
21 They band together against the life of the righteous,
and condemn the innocent to death.
22 But the Lord has become my stronghold,
and my God the rock of my refuge.
23 He will repay them for their iniquity
and wipe them out for their wickedness;
the Lord our God will wipe them out.

Heavenly Father may you continue to bring an overwhelming, crushing defeat on the forces of darkness in our nation, may you smash every crooked deed they try to hold onto power and may this be so convincing that everyone knows that your hand is in this. Then we may bring the light of your Gospel to the nations as you did this time in history:

Much of this Chapter of Proverb reads very like the Book of Job.

Each and every line is to be pondered.

Beautiful promises of God. We have a part to do in order to receive the promises of God. Living according to His instructions, choosing wisely and being of a true and sincere heart.

Father God, gracious, generous, loving, watching over Thy children, giving us pearls of wisdom, ways to live well, guiding and chastening us along our way. Thank Thee, Father, for Love, Hope, Faith, keeping our feet on the paths of righteousness. Forgive us our trespasses and help us forgive others who trespass against us, daily. Build in us a reservoir of prudence and wisdom so that we may do well. Father, bless Israel, Bless Jerusalem, Bless the persecuted believers, help keep them secure and safe during these tumultuous times. Evil is intended for the people and the land, Father we cry to Thee for rescue and protection under the wings of Thy grace. Thank Thee O Eternal One, we love Thee Lord. Amen.
