This is sung after High Mass, during the Easter season of the liturgical year.

***I find that most Protestants do not understand veneration, because they do not see the nature of Worship in its fullness.***

There is a very very fine line between veneration and worship.

Walk into an ancient temple of Zeus or Baal and ask if the statue is their god. They will say that the statue is merely a representation of the higher power they worship. When they honor the statue they honor what it represents.
This is exactly what some here on FR have said concerning statues of Mary and the Saints.

When Cortez conquered the indian tribes of Mexico he destroyed the representations of their gods and told them idol worship was forbidden. He replaced the idols of stone and wood with a (i)doll representation of MARY.

Then he fell down and prayed to who his statue represented. To the UNbelievers he appeared worshiping his “god” while denying them the same to worship their “gods”.

1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

If it appears to others you are “worshiping” a doll (even though you are merely ‘venerating’ who it represents)then you should cease!

How a good thing went wrong...

Num 21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

Num 21:9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

2Ki 18:4 He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.

and then this...

Jdg 17:1 ¶ And there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name [was] Micah.

Jdg 17:2 And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred [shekels] of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou cursedst, and spakest of also in mine ears, behold, the silver [is] with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed [be thou] of the LORD, my son.

Jdg 17:3 And when he had restored the eleven hundred [shekels] of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.

Even though this GRAVEN IMAGE and MOLTEN IMAGE were dedicated to the LORD GOD with a Levite as priest look at
what Hosea had to say about it.

Hsa 4:17 Ephraim [is] joined to idols: let him alone.

Hsa 4:18 Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers [with] shame do love, Give ye.

And neither do they have a full concept of intercession.

34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

In lieu of the above scripture, why would you need Mary as an intercessor. I ask this in genuine curiosity and have asked on other threads, but have never had a response?

God Bless

Lovely. Latin really is a wonderful liturgical language. You folks should use it more often! :)

They do that at weddings as well, dedicating the bride to Mary ...

OH GAG.

And NOT with a rosary!

"Christ nor God records anything whatsoever making her Queen."

?????? Nor???? Is there anything in Scripture that supports that Christ is not "One in Being with the Father"?

In lieu of the above scripture, why would you need Mary as an intercessor.

I appreciate your curiosity. I think the best attempt at giving understanding is this:

Will you pray for me? - Even though I don't need you too?

I am so sorry to hear of your unpleasant Thanksgiving experience. That is not what it is supposed to be all about.

Funny, the ones who rail about “maryolitry” will often be the first to demand the right to erect a Creche Scene in the Public Square at Christmas Time.

I LOVE Nativity scenes, and miss seeing them all over town, but I think I dislike hypocrisy more.

The Body of Christ suffers when folks do stuff like what they did to you.

One of the things that God HATES (according to Proverbs 6) is someone who spreads discord amongst the brethren.

I bought the McArthur bible, off Amazon, large print for my Catholic MIL 2 or 3 years ago. she tries to read it, but understands nothing.

I have compared his commentary and understanding with the Hebrew OT and find no flaws, he is straight as an arrow and faithful to the Word of God.

He studies up to 8 hours a day, it's his job he says.

When he would go on Larry King, which is when most people saw him, he would be next to a Catholic priest, new age gurus, atheists, homosexuals, womens libbers, etc. There was no doubt in any Conservative's mind that he is the only sane one. The priest would be all wishy washy, angels and Mary, the new agers just goofy and McArthur sits there like Moses.

When I was in LA it was a member of his church that influenced me so much I returned to my Christian roots, and will be forever grateful to John M, even though we dont know each other.

Mary was a fallible human being, nothing more. She was not sinless.

I don't understand why it was necessary to integrate goddess mythology into the Catholic religion. It has no basis in scripture that I can see.

Mary should not be involved in the process of prayer in any way, shape, or form, anymore than any other sinful human such as the apostles Peter, Paul, etc.

25 But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus. (Matthew 1:25)

The above scripture seems to corroborate your point.

“Mary was a fallible human being, nothing more. She was not sinless.”

Your own personal opinion, contradicting many centuries of Christian tradition and not supported by Scripture.

“I don't understand why it was necessary to integrate goddess mythology into the Catholic religion.”

The Church has never done that.

“Mary should not be involved in the process of prayer in any way, shape, or form, anymore than any other sinful human such as the apostles Peter, Paul, etc.”

Again, your own personal opinion, and nothing more.

Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother named Mary?* And aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas? (Matthew 13:55)

“Prayer of Pope Pius XII

Enraptured by the splendor of your heavenly beauty, and impelled by the anxieties of the world, we cast ourselves into your arms, O Immaculate Mother of Jesus and our Mother, Mary, confident of finding in your most loving heart appeasement of our ardent desires, and a safe harbor from the tempests which beset us on every side.

Though degraded by our faults and overwhelmed by infinite misery, we admire and praise the peerless richness of sublime gifts with which God has filled you, above every other mere creature, from the first moment of your conception until the day on which, after your assumption into heaven, He crowned you Queen of the Universe.

O crystal fountain of faith, bathe our minds with the eternal truths! O fragrant Lily of all holiness, captivate our hearts with your heavenly perfume! O Conqueress of evil and death, inspire in us a deep horror of sin, which makes the soul detestable to God and a slave of hell!

O well-beloved of God, hear the ardent cry which rises up from every heart. Bend tenderly over our aching wounds. Convert the wicked, dry the tears of the afflicted and oppressed, comfort the poor and humble, quench hatreds, sweeten harshness, safeguard the flower of purity in youth, protect the holy Church, make all men feel the attraction of Christian goodness. In your name, resounding harmoniously in heaven, may they recognize that they are brothers, and that the nations are members of one family, upon which may there shine forth the sun of a universal and sincere peace.

Receive, O most sweet Mother, our humble supplications, and above all obtain for us that, one day, happy with you, we may repeat before your throne that hymn which today is sung on earth around your altars: You are all-beautiful, O Mary! You are the glory, you are the joy, you are the honor of our people! Amen.”

Wow! That’s disgusting and demonic!

"For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God."

That's not my personal opinion.

Mary, being a sinful human being, is included here in "all".

Matthew 1:24-25 - “When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, but knew her not UNTIL she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus.”

Seems clear. Doesn’t it?

I also purchased the MacArthur study bible (large print) from Amazon.

It’s a great book. Commentary is very solid.
