God is: A list of "God is" Descriptions from the Bible

Below is a list of verses from the King James Translation of the Bible describing God, all utilizing the phrase “God is”. However, consider first His words to Moses:

Exodus 3:13-14

– And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

God’s description of himself simply is that He is. There is no beginning in the term and no end. Now here is a list of a great many verses by inspired men describing what God is or is not:

Numbers 23:19 – God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Deuteronomy 4:24 – For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

Deuteronomy 4:31 – For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Deuteronomy 6:4 – Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

Perhaps someone will find this bit of research helpful. I am in the midst of an article on God and it was helpful to me. The list of "God is" verses in the Bible are not all descriptions so those were weeded out in the process. Altogether there were approximately 55+ that remained.

We are so blessed in today’s world to know of God, and to know Him, personally. We have the freedom to worship as we want.

We can worship as we want ?

Christians can only worship as God has commanded.

“Christians can only worship as God has commanded” And how is that?

For those who are not Christian or do not subscribe to your interpretation, do they have freedom to worship as they see fit?

Yes of course, you may worship as you see fit, whatever idol or god you see fit. Work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

Personally, I’ll cast my lot with Jesus, as He taught / declared / commanded. Afetr Jesus is the ONLY way to the Father.

In my world “as we want” means I can openly worship God and all that means. To me it means I have the Bible I can freely study, ponder, and pray about so I know what God wants/expects of me, as well as the blessings to come as I obey His commandments. It means I can openly say the Lord is the Son of God, He is my salvation and there is nothing and nobody that can do that for me except the Lord Jesus Christ who died on the cross for you and for me.

There are many places today people do not have that privilege. I do.

If that does not meet someone else’s definition so be it. It is mine.

Yes we can worship as we wish-or not. And what we wish. That is our choice. It depends on what we want, what we understand, the decisions we make.

For those who don't believe in Jesus Christ and His Gospel, they already worship as they please. it is not a question of freedom. This country claims freedom of religion, but that is not from the bible. It is man's wisdom.

"For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God." --1 Corinthians 3:19

PS - This is NOT my interpretation. Such a heathen response!

If society was biblically based, we should have freedom of religion. Otherwise, we have bondage: rape, murder, theft, arson, abortion, corrupt politicians, corrupt businesses, perjury, etc.
