I’m personally quite sick of the non-stop Mormon bashing that has been going on around here lately. This is borderline Jihadism, and the only thing that the members who put these threads up have not done, at least not yet, is refer to Mormons as “Infidels”.
One can only wonder what these same people have to say about the Jews, Buddhists, Catholics, Lutherans, Baptists, et al.
While everyone has the right to free speech, that does not give you shelter from much deserved criticism, and this whole line of anti-Mormon hate-posts is exactly that: hate. There is nothing Christian or American about attacking another’s religious beliefs.
I think delacoert and a very few other Freepers who so gleefully participate in this need to do some serious reconsidering of their own values before continuing to post these hateful rants against our fellow American Citizens who happen to be Mormon.
Me I’m more concerned about radical Islam..
So am I Kevin, but these anti-Mormon threads amount to a Fatwa, so it’s worth shooting this extremist nonsense down whenever it rears its ugly head.

That could be, but all the wackaddoo garbarge posted about the Catholic Church on FR doesn’t come from LDS, but from other sorts of Christians on FR as far as I can tell. Including this very thread. Anytime I’ve hear that non-Christian whore of babylon goddess worshipping garbage about the Catholic Church, it has never comes from LDS, but a small fraction of the other sorts of nonCatholic Christians on FR.

As far as open discussion goes, no where in my post did I say anyone on this thread or any open thread on the r.forum should be censored or moderated. I never said threads like this shouldn’t be posted. I commented on this thread because of the kind of posts I observed due to the fact that an article with a Catholic source about the LDS was posted.

PS....I agree with you about the church protecting pervert priests. The cover up is always worse than the crime and leads to more misery.The floor of hell is covered in the bones of Bishops.
Why isn´t more attention paid here to values and what one does, rather than nitpicking one theology or another to absurdity?
