Parents, often without even realizing it, have been teaching their children the following things about Santa Claus
SANTA IS OMNISCIENT He knows how children behave throughout the year. The familiar song says, "He knows if we've been good or bad." Also he knows exactly what children want for Christmas even if the child does not have an opportunity to tell him personally.
SANTA IS OMNIPOTENT No storm is too great to hinder Santa from performing his annual miracle of delivering gifts throughout the world. He also defies the laws of nature by flying and by coming down the narrowest (and hottest!) of chimneys! Nor should we forget his amazing ability to produce millions of gifts throughout the year. Is anything too hard for Santa? With Santa all things are possible!
SANTA IS OMNIPRESENT To visit every home in the world in one evening requires nothing less than omnipresence! Every child in the world can wake up in the morning and say, "Santa has been here! Santa was present in my home!" Prior to Christmas Santa also appears at hundreds of street corners and shopping centers throughout the country at the same time!
SANTA IS FAITHFUL You can always count on Santa! Santa never fails and he never breaks his word. When Santa makes a promise he keeps it! When he promises a child a gift, that child will never be disappointed. Children are fully persuaded that what Santa has promised he is able also to perform. The child that believes in Santa will not be put to shame! Santa is totally dependable and trustworthy!

Just a thought..
This is pretty good stuff. I’ll pass it on to someone who can influence others.
Who cares.... Let people celebrate Christmas their way..
The world has not made Santa a god any more than they’re making Superman a god.
He’s a fairy tale, and very few people over the age of about eight aren’t fully aware that he’s a fairy tale. Its a nice story for kids, not a deification.

Hey What ever.. It’s just the piont.. by the way its not call Santamass...
I’m not sure Santa hasn’t been replaced by the cartoon characters, and the cultural junk we use to decorate our trees.
You have way too much faith in people’s belief in Santa. I don’t even know kids who are that serious about him. You are describing a hollywood’s view of how children view Santa.
Why empower the myth?
Every year, at Christmas, we drive by a house that has a BIG cross in the front yard and a Santa kneeling in front of the cross. At night a spot light illuminates the scene. It makes me feel all is not lost...yet.
Sorry, Saint Nicholas is not a threat to Jesus. Neither is a Christmas tree or Candy canes. They are all a fun part of the season that celebrates the birth of our savior.
How about people celebrate CHRISTmas the right way, and acknowledge the reason why we even have Christmas at all.
I don’t think Christians have switched from worshiping Christ to worshiping Santa as you insinuate; rather I think Santa is just another idol for the unbelievers to hang their hopes and dreams on.

This is why the “theology” of Santa is contrary (and more importantly blasphemous I believe) to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Santa gives his gifts according to the behavior, works and deeds of the children - if they cry, pout etc.
Jesus Christ gives (new life and the gift of Salvation through His blood!) freely - freely to all who will receive His free gift INSPITE of the fact that they are good or bad (and they all are bad and sinners). His free gift is not at all based on how good or bad anyone has been - amen - praise God!
Good post Fisherman. We must defend the orthodox Christian faith from the incursion of the modern day Corinthians. We can’t be Christians and hang onto Pagan customs as Paul admonished the church in his epistles. The candy coated paganism that is modern celebration of Christmas, with it’s gratuitous bacchanal of spending, feasting, cartoonish demi-gods like Santa Claus, evergreen trees, etc.. Human familial sentimentality aside, Christmas was neither sanctioned by the Apostles or Jesus himself.
My favorite Santa Claus story:
Nicholas, the saintly and generous bishop of Myra, encountered Arius at the Council of Nicea — and immediate beat the cr@p out of him.
Today, on a world scale, Santa Claus is THIRD behind Jesus and Mohammad in terms of "popularity", if not theology.
Whether you are celebrating Christmas (on Dec 5, Dec 12, Dec 25, Jan 1 or Jan 6 ~ and there are other dates) or are engaged in a re-enactment of the celebrations that take place at the mid-point of the long Arctic night, you ought to be free to do what you want ~ it's definitely a time for indoor life, with friends and family, shiny baubles and fresh green boughs from nearby trees.
There are people who want to push this particular celebration as being primarily focused on religious matters, but it's also a cultural festival of equally ancient lineage. It's not likely the conflict between the common people and the puritan elites will ever be resolved, but I put my money on the commoners figuring out what to do with the coming White Christmas to have a good time.
Bring on the turkey; bring on the cake; let the table groan from the heavy weight of pies, of puddings, of strudles and kolaches, hams and sausages.
Be sure to increase your blood pressure prescription so you can survive the coming holidays.
Merry Christmas!
The world ... as referenced earlier in the sentence, and in the post to which I replied.
