If salvation is the ultimate goal (which it is), and “Everything we need to know about salvation and our daily walk with Christ is in the Scriptures,” why did you bother going to school or educating your children?

Education is of value for providing the means for people to read the word of God and grow in Him, and also to provide a living that we are to work at for the the purpose of blessing others. How are we to feed the hungry and clothe the naked and care for the poor if we don't have the resources with which to do it?

In addition..... 2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.

Ephesians 4:28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.

I mean, if all you need for salvation is in the Bible - and nothing else is of value - why are you even preaching? Just hand out the Good Book, lock the church doors and everyone go home.

And you may have hit on something here. For all the damage that churches have done to the name of Christian, that might not be a bad idea. Get rid of churchianity and start really living the faith we claim to possess, kind of like Tim Tebow.

However, one must PREACH the gospel. Simply handing out Bibles does not absolve us of the responsibility we have of being ambassadors for Christ and living out our faith, walking in the works that God has prepared for us to walk in.

A believer should be living a life of fellowship with his God so that going to church is incidental. That kind of relationship IS possible for the believer.

Although I can't say the thing is not authentic, there is no doubt in my mind that it did not come from God...

The God of Creation allows his mother to glorify herself to the human race while portraying Almighty God as a powerless little baby, who is under the feet of his mother...

Nope, that didn't come from God of the Bible...

And we'll never see them giving this thing up to modern independent laboratories for inspection...

For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." -- Matthew 12:38-40

They refuse to believe that but they will believe this tilma nonsense...

Why stop there, DE?

Why not call the Resurrection the "hallucination at the tomb"? Or Paul's vision "the hallucination on the road to Damascus"?

It's the same argument.

Sure it is, as long as you equate Moby Dick and Cinderella with the Bible...Is that all the Bible is to you guys???

This incident caused a mass conversion among the indians and they abandoned the widespread practice of human sacrifice.

I think we have a very good example of individual local church responsibility in the letters to the churches in Revelation. The warnings are not to an overall ruling authority but to the individual locations. Even within those churches there are individuals who are true and will be saved out of those churches. Given the evident departure from scripture of so many denominations it seems to me that today a local church no matter how small must take responsibility for themselves and their relationship to God, not their relationship to some overriding earthly organization. Individuals and local churches are not responsible for the sins of the overall organization nor are they saved by it.

Counterfeit ‘miracles’ are not that uncommon and will become more so in our era.

The same sorts of fallen angels staging the Fatima incidents should have no trouble arranging such phenomena.

God is very jealous over His Glory.

CHRIST ALONE IS WORTHY.

Regardless of Vatican Ashteroth-Mary-Goddess-Queen-of-Heaven dogma . . .

Mary’s very special role ended 2,033 or so years ago.

She does NOT share “hypostatic union with the Godhead.”

She is NOT Meadiatrix elbowing Jesus or Holy Spirit out of their roles of mediating or drawing souls to God/Christ.

Mary herself is quite against such hoopla and devilish fantasies.

Likewise, I'm sure.

Keep that in mind next time you have an opinion.

Welllllll Dear Sister in Christ, I somewhat agree and somewhat disagree.

Fatima had tangible effects on the environment from the craft and other power and light show stuff engineered by the fallen angels. No hallucination on those scores.

And, there’s every reason to believe that folks saw with their visual receptors what they claimed to see.

However, it is ALSO TRUE that technology exists to cause folks to “see” things that are not there—by-passing their visual receptors and effecting a visual image directly onto the visual cortex of the brain.

Some of the RCC apparition stuff seems to involve tangible impaces on the environment that can be scientifically investigated. I don’t think that’s the critical issue.

The critical issue is whether the SOURCE of such goings on is a deceptive fallen angel/satanic source or from God Almighty and His Holy Spirit.

There’s a starkly clear criteria on that score:

HOLY SPIRIT *ALWAYS* GLORIFIES CHRIST—NEVER ANOTHER mortal or formerly mortal PERSON OR PERSONAGE.

It is the cults who fall for the New Age staged glorifications of all manner of gods, goddesses, Queen of Heaven etc.

NONE of that sort of thing is from Holy Spirit.

Thanks.

Well put.

The NATURE OF AND QUALITY OF the EVIDENCE is important.

All the more so given that Scripture speaks of THE GREAT DELUSION of the END TIMES.

Fallen angel and demonic forces can and do stage all manner of deceptive stuff—of a tangible nature as well as of a hallucinatory sort of nature.

The CRITICAL issue, from Scripture and my own experience is

IS CHRIST ALONE GLORIFIED.

HOLY SPIRIT IS ABOUT THAT AND HE IS NOT ABOUT glorifying any other personage mortal or past mortal.

For the record again:

I believe that the critters are most likely fallen angels a la the Book of Enoch and Genesis 6

. . . pretending to be citizens of distant planets.

It does not matter—they are in cahoots with satan toward setting up the satanic global government. They are not to be trusted nor complied with, imho.

Alamo-Girl, do you have anything to add from your understanding of the Book of Enoch?

"Common ground" is not believing the superstitions and blasphemies of Rome's doctrines of men, but is found within the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Absolutely indeed.

Correct focus.

Nowhere in YHvH's WORD do we find commandments, direction or
admonition to worship, adore or recognition of any created being.

One can deduce that such worship, adoration and recognition is not from YHvh.

If it is not from YHvH it must be from Satan to distract us or have us question.

Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast
of the field which the YHvH God had made. And he said to the woman,
"Indeed, has God said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'?"
I would have questions about the leadership of any organization who
distract created beings from the worship of the NAME of YHvH and His WORD.
