We will not see there likes again in our lifetime. The Beatles were an artistic and cultural phenomenon the world had never seen before and may never see again. They were channeling from something bigger than themselves.
And John was the coolest. Paul was the cutest.
Their talent was awesome.

Thanks for this post, I agree with all of it, except the part about Paul, who I never thought was more than trite.
As for all the "Christians" finding hell and damnation in music that lifted the hearts of billions for over forty years... "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." - Matthew 7:5.
Conservatism is not life - it is the basis of a sane socio-political economic system that is only part of life. Staggeringly, it is actually possible to write songs about other parts of life that do not have anything to do with conservatism, but still have value. Art, in general, follows this idea as well.
Just some things for people to think about before they spit their chaw and shoot the piano player.

Yes, I agree. I saw The Beatles in concert in 1966, wore Beatle boots, the whole nine yards, yet when rock 'n roll was taken over by Disco in the '70s I turned to Counrty Music and never looked back.
The entire time my kids were growing up, I rarely played any Beatles songs around them, but when my 19 year-old daughter came home from college to visit last Christmas I decided to put on The Beatles Rubber Soul album from my old record collection. Listening to the entire album for the first time in her life, she said: "My God they were good, I could listen to that all day."
