According to his Congressional biography, he graduated from college in 1967 (age 22) and spent the next three years getting a master's degree before spending 6 years as a government bureaucrat. Not a hint of any military service there.
I am aware that he courageously beat the snot out of his first wife on multiple occasions, though.
