The idea that Jesus’ point was not to use the word “father” under any circumstances is fatuous.

There you go again, misquoting me AND God...

Mat 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

No one said don't use the word 'father'...Jesus said, Don't call any man father...As in a title...I had a father...But I didn't call him father...

Do you call anyone “teacher”? Of course you do. Yet, Jesus said, “Call no man ‘teacher.’”

Here's the correct verse:

Mat 23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

It's no wonder you guys have such whacked out ideas about Christianity...You apparently don't even know what God tells you in the scriptures...

“Master” is one way of translating the word “magister.”

Which means “teacher.”

Have you ever heard of a “schoolmaster”? Or were you under the impression that all schoolboys have been sold into slavery?
