In those prayers, we are begging Mary's aid in remaining faithful to Christ
What could she possibly do to aid you? Does she have control over you? If that Catholic Church didn't teach you that, you would never do it on your own. Ask your pastor to aid you in remaining faithful - he can't do it either. It's up to you!
What does in remaining faithful to Christ mean?
