“What does not agreeing with the catholic wavering on the definition of vicar cost ???...”

As opposed to outright falsehood? Simply eternal life. Deliberate lies done to defame Christ or His Flock are serious indeed. I showed you the EXACT definition of Vicar. It is way different from the made up claims you posted. Even given every opportunity to accept that failure and embrace truth you choose not to. That is objective failure sister. Your failure. Please move to Truth from that horrible place.

"So NL...will you tell us what the gospel is so nares will know it?"

I am not playing your little "gotcha" game again. We have been down this path before. I have no doubt that Narses knows the right answer and already know that you deny it.

"Catholics are taught, in practice at the church level, that Jesus cannot refuse any request that Mary makes of Him, referring to the water into wine as a proof text."

Can you cite anything in the Catechism, Canon Law, or Encyclicals to support that or did you find it in the same source as your Vicar of Christ embarrassment.

Just an observation I would never call my Lord and my God " the big guy" even joking.. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords..

The Miracle of Cana was for the apostles as evidence of who he was..

john 2:11This beginning of his signs did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

It was NOT all about Mary it was a sign to the disciples

But y’all make mocking soooo easy! Vicar, indeed!

Try using facts or the actual Word instead of making up lies and y’all might make some progress. Of course that would also lead you (gasp!) back into the fullness of the Truth and you would become welcome at that Daily Sacrifice of the Mass as True Children of God, receiving Him in the Real Presence. Truly a goal to be hoped for this Holy Season.

“It was NOT all about Mary it was a sign to the disciples.”

Another Sign that heretics ignore. Water made Wine. Just as today Wine becomes His Blood at that daily Sacrifice that the True Church has held out in fidelity to His command for 2,000+ years.

Indeed. If they are actually preaching God’s True Word. The twaddle and bigotry on this thread hardly qualifies as that.

Then why do you keep spouting it?

You post nothing of substance, but rather are just attacking and mocking others with whom you disagree. You have not corrected anyone's *errors* about Catholicism by citing sources or providing Scripture. The only content of your posts thus far is mockery and derision against individual FReepers.

I have found this to be pretty typical behavior amongst Catholics who find themselves backed into a corner concerning their beliefs and cannot defend them. That is what they resort to.

Yawn. You choose to judge me while Mocking and attacking Christ’s Church. Your fellow attackers make up words and lie, regularly. Casting pearls before swine profits no one.

If I ask you to pray for me (and I do, please!), am I worshiping you?

We weren't talking about worship.

The discussion was about praying to people who have died and are no longer living on this earth.

Really? Wow. And why can you judge the afterlife better than others? Are you truly certain that the Mother of Our Lord is dead and NOT alive in Heaven? Really, truly certain?

“When you do not like the message attack the messenger ... “

That, together with falsehoods, has been your motif. Odd behavior but it fits. Very sad.

You wrote what you wrote. If you’re not capable of writing cogently, don’t blame me.

The issue isn’t worship (at this point), it’s prayer. Catholics pray to Mary. You admitted it, but now want to blame me for pointing out what you wrote.

How does one “slip up” the tongue of another?

“Catholics don’t pray to Mary, we ask Mary to pray for us.

Look at a Catholic litany. Notice all the prayers adressed to Christ say ‘have mercy on us’, whereas all the prayers addressed to Mary or The Saints say ‘pray for us’.”

No, they don’t....

Prayer to Our Lady of Perpetual Help

Prayer to Our Lady of Perpetual Help
Behold, O Mother of Perpetual Help, at thy feet a wretched sinner, who has recourse to thee and trusts in thee. O Mother of mercy, have pity on me; I hear all men call thee the refuge and hope of sinners: be therefore my refuge and my hope. Help me for the love of Jesus Christ: hold out thy hand to a fallen wretch, who commends himself to thee and dedicates himself to be thy servant forever. I praise and thank God, who of His great mercy hath given me this confidence in thee, a sure pledge of my eternal salvation. Alas, it is only too true that in the past I have fallen miserably, because I did not come to thee. I know that with thy help I shall conquer; I know that thou wilt help me, if I commend myself to thee; but I am fearful lest in the occasions of sin I shall forget to call upon thee and so I shall be lost. This grace, then, do I ask of thee; for this I implore thee, as much as I can and know how to do; namely, that in the assaults of hell I may ever run to thy protection and may say to thee: Mary, help me; Mother of Perpetual Help, permit me not to lose my God.

Prayer to Mary Help of Christians

Most Holy and Immaculate Virgin, Help of Christians, we place ourselves under your motherly protection. Throughout the Church’s history you have helped Christians in times of trial, temptation and danger. Time and time again, you have proven to be the Refuge of sinners, the Hope of the hopeless, the Consoler of the afflicted, and the Comforter of the dying. We promise to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, your Son, to proclaim His Good News of God’s love for all people, and to work for peace and justice in our world. With faith in your intercession, we pray for the Church, for our family and friends, for the poor and abandoned, and all the dying. Grant, O Mary, Help of Christians, the graces of which we stand in need. (Mention your intentions.) May we serve Jesus with fidelity and love until death. Help us and our loved ones to attain the boundless joy of being forever with our Father in heaven. Amen.

Mary, Help of Christians, pray for us!

...rather are just attacking and mocking others with whom you disagree.

They don't have anything else. When given the opportunity to witness they don't know how. They have been taught from day one to look to their church for all the answers and their salvation. When they encounter Christians who enjoy a good discussion about Scripture they're lost.
