OK, so what are the options?

1) Burnout (my first thought). The man has been so busy, busy and so occupied with political and organizational issues that he's neglected his spiritual life and has come to the end of his tether.

2) A romantic liason of some sort which has made him question his vocation.

3) Issues with his bishop or the Catholic hierarchy.

4) Financial impropriety of some sort.

5)He just wants to be a simple parish priest and is sick of the spotlight and all the pressure and publicity issues.

Any others?

There is a very good chance that it is similar. There are way too many people who don’t seem to realize that priests are not always perfect and do terrible things. Seriously, this situation is way too wierd, not to think that he did something bad. The Bisop had to have had a very good reason to make him get out of there within a few days. I think people need to pull their heads out of there butts and stop believing that we need to leave this situation alone. Everyone has a right to know where he is, and what happened. Someone needs to come out and make a public statement about him and clear the air. It is really unfair to all the people who listened to him and believed in him.
