Well I went to a Catholic School a long time ago and what you wrote regarding anno Domemi sounds the way I learned as we were taught latin. But I never heard of the 16th century thing. So, yes, I should have probably looked it up as I’d never heard that before. The Roman Numeral with no zero I knew in elementary school as the zero originated( not googling) I believe from India. Looking up and YES invented in India and prophecied that same year Abu O-zero null0bama would be president before Christ came again and just prior to the Amish flying upon the wings of an eagle to Israel with the sole intention of apologizing to the Jews....okay I embellished just a BIT!
