My comments with regard to old Golden Mouth had nothing to do with the title of this collection of his sermons, but rather with the content of those sermons.
Not reading Greek, I am dependent on translations. If that at the Fordham site is inaccurate, please point me to another that is accurate and I’ll be glad to review it and possibly revise my opinion.
I am in perfect agreement that Chrysostom was not “anti-semitic,” if that is defined as racially-based hatred. If that is the criteria used few if any Christian Jew-haters (of whom there were many, notably including Luther) prior to early modern times would qualify as anti-semites, including those who perpetrated massive pogroms. Their hatred was religiously based and they were generally more than willing to accept converts from Judaism as their Christian brothers.
Defining anti-semitism as racial antagonism is projecting 20th century concerns back into a period where they had no meaning.
