I love freedom of speech. No one is censoring anyone here.

Try starting a Romney for President thread.

Didn't "ladylawyer" get the boot?

She did. Romneybot. Question is, will she resurrect herself? It'll be more than Joseph Smith ever did, I'll tell you that.

First, you are not quoting from the KJV, so let me correct, and lengthern your quotations: 1 Timothy 3:1-7
1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
1 Timothy 3:8-13
8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
13 For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Titus 1:5-9
5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:
6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
Now why do I bring this up? well, there are two reasons:

The first being in context it is clear that in all three cases Paul is giving requirements for offices in the priesthood, in all three cases he is laying out what qualities a man must have to serve, in 1 Timothy, he makes it clear that running the church is like running a family, so he wants a successful family man. (which begs the question of celibacy in the priesthood, but I digress) the Idea that Paul a learned man, a great speaker and linguist would pause in listing qualifications and make a doctrinal statement about the number of wives allowed, and then continue on as if nothing had happened, is well laughable.

The second being, the translation of the word "one". the phrase is "mia gune aner" in Greek and it is questionably interpreted in the Bible. Google shows us this is still under debate today by many Christians so to present it as a concrete argument against polygamy, when I know we have discussed it before is well misleading at best.

Mia gune aner (the Greek Paul used) can be translated as One wife of a husband, at least one wife of a husband or a first wife of a husband. If he meant only one wife, he would have omitted the mia and used only gune aner which would have meant wife of a husband, singular.

Readers, I encourage you to research this as fully as you can, I gave you a link to Google results, go look into it.

Paul was not making a specific pronouncement here on marriage, but was writing appropriately of the fact of the existing practice of polygamy, and was not condemning it.

As for the Reference to Jacob 2, if you are not a Mormon, it's not scripture to you, if you are a Mormon then you probably already understand the context that this was lifted from. for anyone who is interested in the context, this link will take you to my page on FR and give you the context that scripture was given in.

Elsie, thank you for proving Saundra Duffy's point about misleading and outright lying posts. I appreciate the effort you have gone through to make her point for her.

Thanks!

Sandy, instead of backing your behind into a corner from which you cannot escape without help, why not ask your mind if Satan had free will. If God created Satan and gave him free will, why does Saundra Duffy want to infer God is responsible for the evil in Satan? ... You’re over your head, Sandy, way over your head.

"I am able to judge everything against the Word of God, that is Biblical. Judging <insert any religion here> against the Word of God demonstrates that <insert any religion here> distort and blasphemy the Word of God."

Said against every Christian religion ever created, by someone...

As for the Body of Christ, well, he gets a say on that, I don't. Similarly, Jesus will either call me his or not, you don't get a vote.
