Perhaps he means ultimately, or relatively speaking as compared to that which is spiritual, (Rm. 14:17) which is true, but they certainly are important, for
1. Creation reveals the glory of God, showing forth of His power, wisdom, and majesty, as a universal testament to reality that there is a creator. (Ps. 19; Rm. 1:19,20)
2. God has also given man a basic innate sense of morality which corresponds to that which is written. (Rm. 2)
3. In revealing Himself more fully and comprehensively, God established certain men as being men of God by powerful supernatural attestation which effected changes in the physical realm.
4. The Divine Son of God came down from heaven, being incarnated with a physical body God the Father had prepared for Him, (Heb. 10:5) and did miracles on physical people, out of love but also that they may believe and be regenerated, and live holy, and realize the spiritual blessings of salvation.
6. Believers will forever have a glorified body after the manner of their resurrected Lord, that apparently could eat physical food, as Jesus did. (Lk. 24)
7. Jesus shall yet reign on the earth, and His apostles shall eat and drink with Him. (Lk. 22:28-30) And after God shall make a new earth, which appears to have physicality of some kind, in which the Holy City (not Rome) shall come down, (Rev. 21,22)which the redeemed of the Lord shall enjoy and get to serve the Lord, (Rm. 22:3) whom they forever shall be with. (1Thes. 4:17)
To God be the glory, and of whom i am utterly unworthy, and need to obey Col. 3:1 in the light of “so great salvation” (Heb. 2:3) by the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ. (Titus 2:13)
My thoughts also! Can’t find it on You Tube be this short one from the History Channel is about evidence that it was a 3D image. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zILVziVBaPc
Beg to differ. It’s extremely fine linen of herringbone weave that would have been very, very expensive in its day. Damned fine cloth. It was purchased by the wealthiest man of the region at the time, Joseph of Arimathea, and donated (along with his own tomb) for Jesus’ burial.
We’ve known since 1977 that the Shroud, uniquely, contains true 3D data. No other cloth on earth has such a trait.
In case anyone sees this, the Shroud of Turin will be discussed tonight 1am-5am ET (10pm-2am PT) on Coast To Coast AM, a nationally syndicated radio show: http://www.coasttocoastam.com/show/2010/12/27
