IF purgatory were true, Jesus would have told us plainly. It is not true. The Bible is easy to understand. It means what it says

Jesus said, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, you have no life in you (John 6:53). At this many of his followers said, this is a hard saying - who can abide it? And many of his followers went away.

So, Coincheck. Do you literally EAT THE FLESH of the Son of Man, and DRINK HIS BLOOD?

No. You know as well as I do that that is not what he meant. (maybe you don’t know)

Looking at it in its context Jesus was saying that He is the bread of life (John 6:48), Then he says that he is the bread that came down from heaven, that if a man eats of it he will not die. (John 6:50) He then says that by giving his flesh (life) the world will live (by accepting him as Lord and Savior). We are feeding our soul(eternal life) when we get saved. The word used “phagein”(John 6: 50-53) by Jesus relates to receiving eternal life.

He also used the word “trogon”(John 6:54) which means a continual or habitual eating, or a continual satisfying of a spiritual appetite through continous “eating” of the Word of God, fellowship, prayer, and study.
