I’m often discomfitted by the term, “Bride of Christ”, because I know what happens to most brides on their wedding nights.

I ran across this while searching for something else...

exactly how many brides have you had? ;-)

(...and how do you get all the other brides to tell you?)

The young man could go for his bride only when his father approved. If the bridegroom was asked when the wedding was to be, he might well say “it is not for me to know, only my father knows”.

That must've made it rough on the florists, caterers, and photog--oh, wait. :-)
