JAKARTA — US first lady Michelle Obama donned a headscarf on a visit to mosque in Indonesia on Wednesday, not a requirement for a non-Muslim but a sign of the Obamas' efforts to show respect for the Islamic world.
Wearing a beige headscarf adorned with gold beads and a flowing chartreuse trouser suit, the first lady toured Jakarta's Istiqlal Mosque, Southeast Asia's largest, while on a short state visit to the world's most populous Muslim country.
US President Barack Obama had been expected to visit another major religious site during his Asian tour, the Sikh Golden Temple in India, but media reports said the visit was canceled after aides balked at the idea of the president wearing a scarf or skullcap required at the site.
Barack Obama is a Christian but faces persistent sniping among some members of the US public that he is a Muslim and, the reports said, aides feared pictures of him wearing such headgear could fuel such rumors

Mine was a brownish-tan with a patterned brown shirt and reddish-brown platform shoes.

Well, in all fairness, if any of the rest of us (as non-Muslims) were touring a mosque in that part of the world, the least of our concerns would be a head covering. I'd personally be more concerned about getting out alive.
Every first lady...INCLUDING LAURA BUSH...wore headscarves in Muslim countries. This is not new.
The point is, Obama, Michelle, and Pelosi all agree that the United States of America needs to be cut down to size, a position that constitutes impeachable treason!

Discuss her “style” but the remarks about her body and ape pics that go along with it are reprehensible. I spent years smackin’ down my daughter and her friends for the same behavior in Jr High.

If Michelle had been a guest at a Jewish Temple, wouldn’t the occasion have required her to likewise cover her head with a hat or scarf?

I agree, as a Catholic, I was always gratified to see pictures of Laura Bush at the Vatican, wearing an altar veil. I thought it showed respect. This is a non-issue.
