Another US Campus is Home to Medieval Anti-Semitism... (Biblically Prophetic)

It would take a lot to shock a guy like Noam Bedein, who runs the Sderot Media Center, which has effectively told the story of that shelled and shell-shocked story to lawmakers, diplomats, tourists, and even world leaders.

Dealing as he does with the personal stories of Sderot residents, as well as the with the incitement by Gaza Arab terrorists against Negev residents, Bedein has seen first-hand the effects of Arab propaganda. And, as an articulate English speaker knowledgeable about events in the Middle East, he has gone on several tours of educational and community institutions in the U.S., seeking to educate people there on the real situation in the Middle East.

But on his most recent trip, even the normally unflappable Bedein was taken aback by how hatred of Israel – and medieval-style anti-Semitism, as well – has found a home on the most progressive college campuses. “

I've been to hundreds of high schools and university campuses talking about Israel over the years, but the reception – and the aftermath – of my visit to the Austin campus of the University of Texas was the worst example of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic agitation I've ever seen,” Bedein told Israel National News

Jerusalem and Judah Will Become a Burdensome Stone to the World....

The bible prophesied that, in the last days, Jerusalem and Judah would become a burden to the world. In fact, they would become irresistible targets to neighboring nations who would send their armies to besiege and conquer:

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” Zechariah 12:2-3 (KJV)

This prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes. Since 1948, the nation of Israel has been besieged, at one time or another, by every neighboring nation in its geographic vicinity. Against great odds, the modern state of Israel has fought and survived four major wars – in 1948, 1956, 1967, and 1973 – as well as numerous violent conflicts. Today, the City of Jerusalem, and Israel itself, are the epicenter of world attention.

The Arab threat of war over Jewish possession of Israel and Jerusalem is a constant threat to world peace and international stability, making this geographic area a heavy burden on the world’s leaders.

The idea that this is simply “business as usual” or that “everything has remained the same” since Christ first appeared is utterly ridiculous. Despite its historical prominence, Jerusalem has never been “a burden for the world” until our generation.

Israelis not happy with synod statement, angry over bishop’s remarks
VATICAN CITY (CNS) — Several prominent Israelis expressed concern over a statement by the Synod of Bishops for the Middle East, which said Jews cannot use the Bible to justify injustices.

But tensions increased when a U.S. bishop told reporters at the synod that Jews could no longer regard themselves as God’s “chosen people” or Israel as “the Promised Land,” because Jesus’ message showed that God loved and chose all people to be his own.

The Vatican spokesman, Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, said Oct. 25 that the final message of the Synod of Bishops reflected the opinion of the synod itself, while the remarks by Melkite Bishop Cyrille S. Bustros of Newton, Mass., were to be considered his personal opinion.

While the Anti-Semitism and Anti-Israel campaigns are continuing in most of the Muslim nation with financial support from various governmental and non-governmental sources, there are specific allegations of similar activities in Europe.

In Muslim nations, such funds mostly come under the garb of mosque or madrassa projects, ending in either financing or establishing groups and media outlets with the aim of continuing Anti-Semitism and Anti-Israel activity.

Arab donors prefer establishing a base in their targeted countries, initially either by building a mosque or a madrassa [religious school], which are later used to drain hidden funds marked for fueling these activities...

There have, however, been a number of anti-Semitic incidents in recent years; and Sweden has the highest rate of anti-Semitic incidents in Europe after Germany and Austria, although in so me years the Netherlands reports a higher rate of anti-Semitism.

A government study in 2006 estimated that 15% of Swedes agree with the statement: “The Jews have too much influence in the world today.” 5% of the entire adult population, and 39% of the Muslim population, harbor strong and consistent anti-Semitic views. Former Prime Minister Göran Persson described these results as “surprising and terrifying.” However, the Rabbi of Stockholm’s Orthodox Jewish community, Meir Horden claimed that

“It is not true to say that the Swedes are anti-Semitic. Some of them are hostile to Israel because they support the weak side, which they perceive to be the Palestinians..

I wish I had known about this. I would have loved to go over to the campus and filmed some anti-semites in action, just so that they can’t make up lies about how civilly they treat people who don’t share their viewpoint.
