The poster used the term as a derogatory appellation. If you believe there is some monolithic fundamentalist herd, you're mistaken. Bible Belt refers to our reliance upon the scriptures for guidance rather than a preisthood class. The range of 'dogma' in the South is so much more broad than a single derogatory term could encompass.
