When a branch is broken off and another grafted in, that is replacement, even though every connotation that the Replacement theology has accrued may not be there. To wit, the genetical Israel is prophesied to be regrafted in a more natural way.

I'd lean to the explanation that the main vine is Christ, and we Catholics are grafted in to Christ, with the Jews as the natural branches that grow from it. Then there are the idiots who cry Lord, Lord...

Yes that is fine by me so long that we remember that some of these natural branches are broken off. There are many Jews who are far from ignorant in matters of Christianity who deny Christ knowingly. I don’t see how is the Jewish gene going to save them.
