Where does the Bible ever say that Johns lifestyle was *penance*
He chose it for some reason, and his purpose was to call to penance. The Bible mentions his "lifestyle"; why, do you think, it does?
Does that mean all those Hail Marys and our Fathers that the priest gave me to say after confession werent really penance?
Of course they were. You do what the priest tells you. You can certainly do your own without being asked. You can do penance for the sins of others, too.
I should have been walking around in a sack, living on the streets surviving on locusts and wild honey?
Would be very nice of you.
Are your fingers broken?
Or your delete key?

Tell me that you're not really that clueless......

Like good little drones.

Why? Is that a *work* that Jesus supposedly instructed in the Beatitudes, or is it something the RCC made up itself?
The only thing penance does for the penitent is make them feel good about himself.
It literally, has no redeeming value.
It’s a useless waste of time.
If the person is saved, it does nothing to add to salvation.
If they are unsaved, it does nothing to bring about salvation.
