...always looking, never finding.

This reminded me of a Lewis Grizzard story about a good friend of his at his bachelor party. The groom-to-be was heading to another room to "be alone" with one of the exotic dancers at the club hosting the party. Lewis stopped him and said, "Man, what are you doing? You're getting married tomorrow to a wonderful gal.", to which his friend replied, "Yeah, you're right, I've found what I was looking for, but I'm not done looking yet."

I often wonder if that's what is going on with people who forsake their faith and are still looking.

I believe if anyone is grounded in their faith, they don't foresake it. They know that they know. Leaving the RCC was easy because there is no foundation there because it's about a church and not God's Word only. God's Word is the foundation. After all, it's about a relationship with Our Father, not an organization. And through His Word I know Him. He calls us individually and created us for fellowship with Him. And when we do, there is nothing lacking in our lives anymore just daily getting to know Him more and more. Praise God!

IMO, that bachelor wasn't serious - he needs to lose, in order to gain. Some do learn the hard way. If he was still looking the day before, surely the day after he will still be looking. I'd put him in a category of 'it all about him'. When God finds us - then, 'It's all about Jesus', IMO.

sidenote: Right before an old school friend (Catholic) called me, I was a catholic, when we hung up, I was no longer a Catholic. What was said to me, I instantly knew (within) it was Truth. And never questioned it - since there was nothing to question. I was not seeking before this but about one month or week I forget, I remember thinking - 'is this all there is to life?'. I felt there was something missing but my life was going great - and I even questioned myself - 'what more do you want'? But somehow I felt something was missing and totally clueless what it was. Then came 'the' phone call. That's how easy it was for me and I praise God for it all! I did nothing - it was indeed all GOD. And it was HIM that put it on my heart 'that something was missing' because in reality, I couldn't see anything that was missing or felt that I needed/wanted anything (except more time). God is AWESOME!

They form megachurches and become televangelists.
