When I was a Roman Catholic, I thought the "good news" was having the mass be over in 30 minutes instead of 45 minutes. ;)No, I take that back...
The GOOD news was when the weather was so bad that they either canceled church or said that if you missed because of the weather it wasn't counted a s a mortal sin. I forgot exactly how they worded it on the radio, but not having to go at all was the good news.

They never ever closed our church. Priests lived right next door in the rectory. ‘If we can get to church, so can you’.
That was for school, also, school never closed. Nuns right there.
