In Christ Alone lyrics
Songwriters: Getty, Julian Keith; Townend, Stuart Richard;
In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless Babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save
?Til on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live, I live
There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory Sin?s curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ
THX 4 ALL YOUR HELP n prayers in cleansing & redressing wounds.
Bleeding was less than I expected on cleansing and redressing the wound.
Skin flaps didn’t want to come up on thumb pad for cleansing so I just left them.
Applied Hydrogen peroxide; rinse, betadine, then neosporne & tubular finger bandages wrapped in paper tape.
Managed pain without tylenol . . . PTL for that. Wasn’t sure the redressing etc. was going to be manageable wihtout such but it was. PTL.
Church gathered around and prayed for me tonight after the service.
NoGrayZone prayed for me on the phone. Joya’s been praying.
PTL FOR GOD’S LOVE AND CARE THROUGH ALL OF YOU.
YEA.
I think it actually looks better than it did right after the incident. More skin looks like it’s attaching back than I expected. No ligaments or joints were damaged! PTL FOR THAT, FOR SURE.
THANKS TONS FOR YOUR CARING AND PRAYERS.
I started to type please be patient with my copying and pasting vs typing so much . . . but then I figured there’d be lots of rejoicing in at least some quarters over that. LOL
Bleeding stopped. Started again using digits so much after church shopping for some better first aid stuff . . . but has now stopped again that things are cleansed and dressed as much as could do without tearing bits of skin flaps up.
There’s really not much to stitch to, The skin on the middle finger that’s left is kind of shredded and in thin strips over about a half inch to an inch strip.
The thumb skin flaps seem to be quite securely reattached.
The nurse at service tonight agreed that Urgent care would only cost me money I didn’t have and not be able to do much more for me than I could do myself.
So, going to trust God that no infection will set in and that healing will be speedy.
PTL FOR GOD’S LOVE AND CARE THROUGH ALL OF YOU.
YEA.

I reflexively shook the glove off immediately. Then proceeded to drip a trail of blood into the trailer and annoyingly got it over my wonderfully warm and fine new jacket—as well as my white athletic shoes.
All minor issues, for sure! LOL.
The glove looks much worse than one would expect from the actual damage to my fingers. PTL for that.
I was disobedient. The Lord had nudged me 15 min or so earlier about not sawing with my gloves on. Had I even done the foolish reaching for the scrap wood that caused my injury—without the glove—I would have been OK.
Sigh. One would think at 64, I wouldn’t make such dumb mistakes.
Too soon old, too late smart.
Thanks for your caring and concern.
But that is according to you, friend. Then there's according to some other Protestant who says you interpret it incorrectly as well. And on and on and on. To come along some 1,500 or 2,000 years later and claim the Church has got its own Holy Scripture wrong and now you have them and you know better what their meaning is? You must see how absurd this seems.
I can't express it any better than G.K. Chesterton, in "The Catholic Church and Coversion":
To this I owe the fact that I find it very difficult to take some of the Protestant propositions even seriously. What is any man who has been in the real outer world, for instance, to make of the everlasting cry that Catholic traditions are condemned by the Bible? It indicates a jumble of topsy-turvy tests and tail-foremost arguments, of which I never could at any time see the sense. The ordinary sensible sceptic or pagan is standing in the street (in the supreme character of the man in the street) and he sees a procession go by of the priests of some strange cult, carrying their object of worship under a canopy, some of them wearing high head-dresses and carrying symbolical staffs, others carrying scrolls and sacred records, others carrying sacred images and lighted candles before them, others sacred relics in caskets or cases, and so on. I can understand the spectator saying, "This is all hocus-pocus"; I can even understand him, in moments of irritation, breaking up the procession, throwing down the images, tearing up the scrolls, dancing on the priests and anything else that might express that general view.
I can understand his saying, "Your croziers are bosh, your candles are bosh, your statues and scrolls and relics and all the rest of it are bosh."
But in what conceivable frame of mind does he rush in to select one particular scroll of the scriptures of this one particular group (a scroll which had always belonged to them and been a part of their hocus-pocus, if it was hocus-pocus); why in the world should the man in the street say that one particular scroll was not bosh, but was the one and only truth by which all the other things were to be condemned? Why should it not be as superstitious to worship the scrolls as the statues, of that one particular procession? Why should it not be as reasonable to preserve the statues as the scrolls, by the tenets of that particular creed?
To say to the priests, "Your statues and scrolls are condemned by our common sense," is sensible. To say, "Your statues are condemned by your scrolls, and we are going to worship one part of your procession and wreck the rest," is not sensible from any standpoint, least of all that of the man in the street.
AMEN! AMEN!

MINIMAL SIGNS of blood soaking new banages. PTL.
YOUR PRAYERS are clearly helping speed healing.
off topic,
Just now saw your comments, & as you can see, per Quix, he didn’t get stitches due to too little skin left for that; he is now reporting, in the wee hours of the morning, he has a headache but the hand is stable.
He has quite a constitution, handles pain like a manly man, gives very little outward reaction to adverse circumstances, very admirable.
He was the same way when he had all his teeth pulled. Remarkable.
= = =
also off topic,
OTAC, I have somewhere a copy of The Message, it’s good. I want to get a copy of New Living Translation (I think Joel Osteen has a leather copy of it available) and at biblegateway dot com I will scroll to the Young’s literal translation & to the Amplified Bible if I’m wanting help understanding a Bible verse.
One of my son-in-law’s most treasured possessions is an heirloom Bible that’s held together with duct tape, I kid you not. I’ve seen another person at my church bring a Bible held together that way.
= = =
And going even further off topic,
Gorilla Duct Tape is the best brand to buy. 3M duct tape offers less adhesion than used kleenex, seriously,
so OTAC, and everybody else,
BUY
GORILLA brand DUCT TAPE
and avoid 3M — I speak from personal AND work-related experience. Nuff said.
Good thing we don’t type with thumbs. :^)
Prayers for speedy recovery.
Dear Lord send Quix some pain...and speedy healing.
That what you had in mind??? ;)
Father I pray for my buddy Quix that you'd relieve his pain and help the healing of his finger. In Jesus name.
PS...help him with his brain damage that he'd never work around woodworking power tools w/ gloves on.

Got my own table saw to set up and use. I bought a brand new Powermatic model 66 cabinet saw a few years ago. Is still in the box, waiting for room in the garage. My goal is to add a Powermatic planer this year, depending on work. Either 15 or 20", only $400 difference between the 2. Don't really NEEEEEEED the 20". But if 15 is good, 20 is more gooder. Would definetly like to get the Shelix cutter heads, but thats another $600 for the 15" and $850 for the 20".
When it comes to tools, I'm like Tim Allen
MORE POWER...arr-arr-arr-arr
THX MUCH for your kind words and helpfulness.
BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD. HE ALONE IS WORTHY; HE ALONE ENABLES. HE ALONE HEALS AND RESTORES WHAT’S WORTHWHILE.
INDEED.
I use a Logitech trackball with scroll wheel. Helps a lot in this situation.
MUCH appreciate your kind prayers, concern and words.
LOVE YOUR KIND POST.
THX THX.
Yeah, it’s some kind of brain-fade arrogance to take unfitting risks around power tools.
Humility lessons can be painful and costly.
Thanks tons for your prayers.
I can feel your pain. I do wood work my self. Hey, that was God suggesting to take your glove off ya know. Dont ya hate it when we dont listen? Prayers up.
I will be out for the next week. My dad passed and will be flying out for his funeral today.
