In Christ Alone lyrics
Songwriters: Getty, Julian Keith; Townend, Stuart Richard;
In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless Babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save
?Til on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live, I live
There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory Sin?s curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ
Exactly,dear mark!
Non Catholics can never say "the faith is the faith" regardless of departures because there is no foundation of an forever changing faith that makes up their faith and departures is the core of protestant faith
AMEN! THX THX.
Bingo. Luther's every milkmaid, who, under the Reformation, was given permission to create her own religion.
I’m talking about those who call themselves Catholics who deny transubstantiation, who call the Bible a *magic book*, and NL who claims that there is no eternal damnation but soul annihilation upthread.

LOL! Just perfect.
That's funny coming from someone who thinks Christ is a myth.
You don't *discuss* religion at all. I've perused your posting history. All you do is mock and attack others and their beliefs.
That passage does NOT justify kissing the Koran.
Would you bow down and kiss the Koran to appease a muslim or show deference to him and what he considers his holy book?
Faith is what we do. Imitate the works and you will have faith. Here is the entire passage: it speaks of charity and chastity and ends with faith:
[1] Let the charity of the brotherhood abide in you. [2] And hospitality do not forget; for by this some, being not aware of it, have entertained angels. [3] Remember them that are in bands, as if you were bound with them; and them that labour, as being yourselves also in the body. [4] Marriage honourable in all, and the bed undefiled. For fornicators and adulterers God will judge. [5] Let your manners be without covetousness, contented with such things as you have; for he hath said: I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee. [6] So that we may confidently say: The Lord is my helper: I will not fear what man shall do to me. [7] Remember your prelates who have spoken the word of God to you; whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation, [8] Jesus Christ, yesterday, and today; and the same for ever.
As usual a Protestant faith-alone "prooftext" crumbles when the Bible is consulted as written.
Quit chest-beating and show me. Many tried.
Unfortunately, there is no evidence to support that.
Not so, because the foundational element is the belief in salvation through faith in Christ alone.
Protestants on these threads HAVE said that, that we have the unity in Christ in spite of the doctrinal differences in disputable matters. (Romans 14)
As a matter of fact, that's the very thing that Catholics condemn Protestantism for, the departures in areas of doctrine not essential for salvation.
It's a lose/lose situation for Protestants. We're damned if we do and damned if we don't.
Catholics keep telling us that Catholic doctrine is stable and unchanging. Where do these departures come in then? Are they there or are they not?
Links for your reading pleasure....
Muchly obliged. Link #2 has some Catholic and some non Catholic content. Ditto #3.
Link #4 is very Christian and very ancient in its profession.
Link #5 is more Christian than any Protestant who professes that the Holy Spirit has influenced his decisions and that anyone who does not agree with them is going against God.
I'm not sure where NL professes soul annihilation, but I'm sure that you'll point me in the right direction.
No,however God makes man in such a way that he, man, can decide how to function (Eph. 2:10).
And those calls go out to all the world. Who responds in faith which is the only marker of salvation?
That is not what Matthew 25:31-46 say. He who do the works is saved. We can suspect a good deal of faith in him, but that is not what the scripture says. The response to a call to good works is do the works. "So we should walk in them". More scripture, less Calvin, please.
