In Christ Alone lyrics
Songwriters: Getty, Julian Keith; Townend, Stuart Richard;
In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless Babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save
?Til on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live, I live
There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory Sin?s curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ
St. Paul said a lot of things; he is misrepresented more. Those who disagree with those misrepresentations are roundly castigated by those who would supplant Paul for Christ. They think that it is new, novel and wonderful. But so did those 1800 years ago who were roundly castigated and cast out of the Church by the Christians in charge.
No matter. We are all called upon to bear our crosses. If the Paulicians have rallied, then we shall face them as our Christian ancestors did - with the truth of Christ, and not with the falsity of YOPIOS.
The Catholic god shows no mercy. All remission of sins has to be earned. That's not mercy, that's subjection.
Sounds like it borrows heavily from Islam
Actually, my opinion has not changed, and by the actions of those Paulicians here, it is not likely to, either.
It doesn’t say that they were believers, only that they did mighty works. They were in it for themselves - the self-described saved of this era, for example. If you call yourself saved, you supersede Jesus in form, and will be denied at the Judgement. If Jesus Judges, a man cannot declare that Judgement ahead of time. Sorry, Judgement does not work that way either in temporal or spiritual court.
Evidently, you have not heard of the Divine Mercy chaplet, Evidently, you know next to nothing about Catholics.
“The Catholic god shows no mercy.” What a piece of junk!
Once again, your Catholic education has been woefully inadequate. The Christian God is a God of mercy. All remission of sins depends on repentence, but Jesus will draw all men to Him. That is mercy, and not justice.
On that very same thread last April, you openly expressed your love for me for creating a post which listed all of your comments re Paul's loony-ship. Allow me to quote your reply to me, verbatim....
....yes you, Judith Anne, said that you loved me for making the very same post that you're now chastising me for. And speaking of convenience, what's this paranoid nonsense about my "keeping personal files"? Everything you've ever posted on FR is public history for all to read. For that matter, so it everything I've every posted. Anyone can find any comment ever made on FR, if they know where to look. The day that I "keep personal files on Freepers with whom I disagree", I will accept your chastisement. Today is not that day. Tomorrow doesn't look so good, either. To: Alex Murphy
Alex, I love you! That is SO convenient.

Again, NOTHING any proddie said on that thread changed my mind, nothing impressed me as being Christian, and I doubt it ever will.
So (in your personal opinion) Paul's still a loony who's off his meds? Despite the Catholic Church declaring him a saint?
Your actions are very like stalking, as I have purposely AVOIDED YOU due to typically unpleasant interactions.
And don't think that I'm not grateful.
Well, if I said I loved you last April, and I am NOT saying I love you this November, can you guess that my feelings may have changed? Do you have a clue why?
Can you get back to the thread, and the subject you were discussing before you hauled my name into it? Because I don’t intend to discuss religion with a stalker.
Of course there isn't...amazing how you can twist someones post, tactics easily identified as that as well. That does not change the fact that they are not worshipping the God of Christanity..nor that their Islamic faith is rooted in Pagan worship of the God "they" believe in...the pagan Moon God regardless that we know it isn't a God at all.
By the way even scripture says God is the God of all Gods...He understands people did have idols and images they bowed to as Gods and call them that...be they of wood or marble they are man made images of their imaginations.
Because angels are created as God's obligate servants. It's their nature. They were not given dominion over anything. To suggest that an angel rebels against being a servant to God is to say that a dog rebels against being a dog.
Where does it say that angels have free will?
In His time and according to His purposes God will rid the world of this malevolent being, but until then, Jesus has taught us to pray the Father to deliver us from the evil one
He also says to pray to the Father not to leads us into temptation. Does God lead people into temptation? The Lord's Prayer seems to suggest he does.
By now the original questions I asked have been completely sidestepped, such as what was God 'doing' the entire eternity, why did he create the world if he didn't lack anything, and is perfect? And who is he trying to impress? etc.
And, unlike biblical talking animals, who spoke intelligently, like humans and angels, the birds' "speech" is called mimicry. Hint for nonsense. That means they "talk" without saying anything...like some people I know.
On the contrary, the issue was whether animals could talk, not what the intelligence was behind it.
As with other agnostics and atheists who think they got one over on Christians because they mock the *talking animals* as if it can't happen, yes it can. We have animals today who can talk. Call it what you wish, words that we recognize as speech come out of their mouths.
So you can't blow off the *talking animals* as fantasy and evidence of make believe in religion.
Here’s another one for your list....

“I find the scriptures to be highly overrated in many regards. I do believe the Truth can be found in scriptures, but mostly in a way that the Truth can be found in “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”. “
Not a single talking bird in the Bible. And not a single talking donkey or snake in the world, ever. Do you believe in pink unicorns on Jupiter? Maybe you should give it a try.
intlelingent=intelligent
That is not speech. That is simply making sounds. Speech is the intelligent understanding of two way communication via language. I'm not sure why you are persisting in this line of thinking. A macaw or parrot squawking some phrases is not communication as with a human being in speech.
What about those teacup poodles that fat and/or irrational society dames carry around in little purses?
By now the original questions I asked have been completely sidestepped, such as what was God 'doing' the entire eternity, why did he create the world if he didn't lack anything, and is perfect? And who is he trying to impress? etc.
All that Christians have is the belief that He created them to be eternally with Him. Other motivations at other times? I have no answer; not sure that I need one. For me, the Faith suffices; I believe, I don't know.
"But the Lord SAID unto him, (Ananias), GO THY WAY: FOR HE (Paul) IS A CHOSEN VESSEL UNTO ME, TO BEAR MY NAME BEFORE THE GENTILES, AND KINGS, AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL: FOR I WILL SHEW HIM (Paul) HOW GREAT THINGS HE MUST SUFFER FOR MY NAME'S SAKE." Acts 9: 15,16.
These are Jesus Christ's own words concerning Paul. ( They are probably in red in your BIble). I'm sure He is not concerned about your opinion of Paul as much as He is concerned about the message He gave Paul to give you.
**crickets**
kosta50:As much as talking snakes and donkeys...and people walking on water or being raised form the dead...have you ever seen a talking snake or a donkey or anyone raised from the dead, or do you maybe walk on water?
Do you believe in transubstantiation? Or since it's considered a miracle like the others that you appear to dismiss, do you write that off as *magic* as well?
If the miracles in the Bible are all magic as your posts indicate you conclude they are, why go to mass? Isn't it then just a magic show?
If you think that some priest can turn wheat into flesh and blood, do you believe in pink unicorns on Jupiter too?
