"Are you suggesting that God "revealed" lies and forgeries to build His Church?" Of course not, I am a Catholic. I am suggesting that many lie about what God actually revealed.

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Does your KJV or your Geneva Bible not call them the Gospel? We all know they are called "The Gospel According To Matthew", "The Gospel According To Mark", etc. The word in Greek is euaggelion and means "good/glad news", "glad/good tidings". The question all along has been what do you think the good news is?

When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, But he who restrains his lips is wise. Thank you for reminding me! :o)

Does your KJV or your Geneva Bible not call them the Gospel?Mat 11:5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
Luk 9:6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.
The Gospel existed long before the books we call the gospels were written..What was the gospel Jesus preached? What was the gospel that the apostles preached?

Men have died to answer that question. And FRoman Catholics haven't a clue as to what "the Gosepl" means.
Wouldn't you think that failing would send some of them to the Bible to learn the answer to Christianity's most basic question?
How do they preach the Good News if they don't know what the Good News is?
Maybe for them it's not so good.

We know God is sovereign and God will have all He intends to have. Those that God wants at some point after hearing the question "what is The Gospel" will seek the answer. Those that want pats on the back for being faithful to their church will find out how serious their error is at the White Throne Judgment. AMEN!
Every star named; every hair numbered. Every sheep of Christ's flock brought safely home.
"For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
And again, I will put my trust in Him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me." -- Hebrews 2:10-13

Instead what has happened is they (Roman Catholic church) teach dependence on them (the church). The church becomes the conduit of their salvation. As a result defense of their church becomes the same as defending their faith.
And there you have it in a nutshell. Jesus becomes a window dressing at that point; something to give legitimacy to the system of works they have established to replace the Law that God gave.
WOW! In a nutshell, indeed! Well said - RIGHT TO THE POINT!!

Again it is Paul who says this...I want scripture where Jesus calls him apostle...God sent him, true, but when Jesus talked to him on the road to Damascus, he was not called to be an apostle by Jesus. So Paul was a liar? Scripture is in error and Rome canonized a liar?
It might help if you understood the Greek word for apostle..
apostolos
1) a delegate, messenger, one sent forth with orders
You admit that Paul was sent..thus by defination he was an apostle
Peter, james and John accepted Paul as an apostle, but Catholics won't because they do not like the message ....
Where did Jesus address Peter as " His holiness the pope"?

If God is just, I have no complaint coming from whatever that judgment might be.. Do you think there's a chance God is not just?

As I said earlier, difference of opinion is what makes a horse race and the difference in Christian denominations...
You use the term liar, I just said he took that label himself and it was not what Christ's word for him was.
I have no desire to split hairs and get into a religious flame war. I posited a question and found the answer in Christs own words. That satisfied my question. I consider it the end of my participation in this debate.
What happened after Christ stated what Paul was to do and what he was called after that in the early church was not part of my inquiry..
But even Peter put forth what makes an apostle when lots were thrown and Matthias took Judas place as an apostle..Paul did not meet even Peter's criteria of what it takes to be an apostle...
What was done after that is not part of my inquiry. You all can call Paul whatever you want, I don't care. I have my answer..using scripture as my guide...with Christ and Peters own words...

and not just Paul, Acts 14 tells us that Barnabus was an apostle
14 Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul

The author of Acts refers to Paul as an apostle, and as the book of Acts is considered scripture, the book is inspired and given by God. If you choose not to believe God, then how will you ever believe anyone else?

Sorry, goat granny, but you're putting yourself outside of historic, orthodox Christianity by your denial that Paul was an apostle.
If that's comfortable for you, so be it.
