I don’t believe Russia has returned properties taken from the Catholic Church during the communist times; this is a sticking point with the Russian Orthodox Church, which as the state religion of the USSR was given many of those properties (and is in no rush to return them).
From what I read, it wasn’t the Catholic’s property that was returned but control of the G.O.Churches from State control.
Pardon my memory but it was 6-8 month ago?
