Happens all the time. I was paid to go to a city parade by a tiny start-up that wanted the publicity. I stood on the trailer with hay-bales and our logo around and waved at the crowd.
Fortunately, it was not a queer parade. It was clear, however, that operations WOULD support marketing, and get paid to do it.
Personally, I would have rather been somewhere else.
