send Latin American Catholics. Tough as nails they are...

Amen. There is so much to love about this story and all of it had to work together to achieve this miraculous outcome. Each of the significant parts of this were guided by the hand of God, as a conductor of a fabulous orchestra:

       * the religious faith of the Chilean miners to remain sane and civil to each other;
       * the visibly present and obviously competent President of Chile (contrast him with 0); and
       * the ingenuity and exceptionalism of U.S. technology produced by capitalism.

Each one of these elements is mostly being ignored by the press, because it refutes every single tenet of their liberal nanny-state big government worldview and they don't want the people to know this truth.

Beautiful story. Thanks for the ping. And at the risk of beating a dead horse, apparently there was no question of homosexual activity, confessions or molestation down there, because of their entrenched values. These are manly men!

Yes it is.

I don’t watch movies, actually watched very few over my lifetime. About 15 or more years ago, I watched some. I noticed that in movies where there was great danger or disaster, they never or very rarely depicted anyone praying or mentioning God. I was totally disgusted because in real life, disaster and fear of death bring out peoples’ dependence on God, look what happened after 9-11. So I again determined not to let Hollyweird’s athesist/hedonist/leftist influence into my mind.

(PS thanks for emails - just bad bad busy lately...)
