Most Christians (i.e. Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, Lutheran) take the middle path between the Dispensationalist (just waiting for the rapture) and Covenantal (establish a pure kingdom now!) approaches.

In other words: do what you can with what you have, but do not count on the world ending tomorrow and do not expect that anything will ever be perfect until then.

Not very dissimilar from the Jewish attitude, but of varying levels and degrees of antagonism to Judaism depending on time and circumstances.
