Watch out boys (and gals).........you've been guarding the front door against Catholics and Warren walked in the back!
that’s good news. that was probably my favorite comic strip back in the early 90’s.
Amen!! Rick Warren is a FRAUD!!
This should be fun.
Not that whatever he says is going to make any difference anyway. :)
After all, it was predestined.
Rick Warren will speak at the Desiring God national conference connected to Pastor John Piper Friday amid some criticism of his theology.
Old news. Did speak. It's out there now, and it's awful. Gospelless platitudes. He actually comes out and says the churches teach people too much. "Oh really?"
Chris Rosebrough's Fighting for the Faith program played it in toto, and reviewed it (here).
See also James White's comments (on someone else's radio program) here. You want to know my reaction -- "what James White said!"
"The PDL movement will end up producing "burnt over districts" of ex-believers who thought there was more to Christianity, and were led astray by Warren and his PDL. If there was "deeper" meaning and material for new converts, I'd think Warren would use the profits from PDL to publish it, or at least promote it. From what I've seen in his books and on Saddleback's website, I don't Warren has any idea how to transition a milk drinker into a meat eater."
-- Alex Murphy, October 10, 2005
"... it's quite a statement about one's priorities (and discernment) that so many previously refused to abandon Warren when he was promoting bad theology and lousy exegesis - and so many have withdrawn support from the good ship Saddleback, now that Warren is out promoting politically/socially liberal causes and personalities."
-- Alex Murphy, November 21, 2006
"Evangelicals are often equated with fundamentalists or the religious right, which annoys Warren. Although he's politically conservative - opposing abortion and gay marriage and supporting the death penalty - he pushes a much broader agenda and disdains both politics and fundamentalism....Warren predicts that fundamentalism, of all varieties, will be "one of the big enemies of the 21st century.""
-- The purpose-driven pastor (Rick Warren calls Christian fundamentalists an enemy)
"The evangelical movement has been confused with both the religious right and fundamentalism, which it is not. I'm not a fundamentalist, and I'm not part of the religious right."
-- Rick Warren in his own words
